2-4 Live, trips on the flop

Hi all

This is from a live 2-4 game. No one at the table is capable of thinking like a 2+2'er. Everyone is pretty ABC. Everyone is close to $400.

Villian #1 is a lagtard. Earlier, he...

Re: a hand vs PA, 200/400 HU

****disclaimer* I am not a HSNL player****

Doesn't the meat of this hand occur on the turn, specifically when you call his pot size bet? Everything up to and including his turn bet is pretty...

Re: 10/25 NL live simple 3-bet situation

Hi all
I'm new at this level, so my thinking may be behind all yours.

[ QUOTE ]
I am thinking check, but just want to make sure. I think he will fold QQ if I bet, but I may be able to extract...

Re: Playing Too Tight??

[ QUOTE ]

for this not to be +EV, both your opponents would have to fold on the turn, and if that is the case, you should be happy to call and bluff them off their overpair.

does this advice hold for any pocket pair, then?
specifically, lower ones?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, for a 4-8 game.

The lower the cards and the better my opponents, the better the...

Re: 4-8/kill game at Oceans11, beatable?

I'm not great at this, but to start

assuming 30 hands/hr

the house rakes $150/hour, which is huge compared to the stakes. I've played 4-8 full kill games where the avg. buy in is around $150,...

Re: Playing Too Tight??

I think that folding this preflop is horrible IMO.

Its ~ 5:1 presently on your call. Its very reasonable that you can expect to collect at least 4 BB after the flop if you hit your set, making...

Re: Two Live 4-8 Hands, Covering All The Bases on Bad River Play

Hand #1

3-betting the river is villan dependent. If he's capable of raising there with 2pair, then 3-betting is fine, but he'd half to be very slow not to know that you have a huge hand. Is he...

Re: KK in UTG+1; Two 10\'s on Board; Oh My!

I would just call the flop 3-bet, then call down if you think you have a chance to be in the lead. If your behind, you lose less, if ahead, you don't allow him to get away from his hand.

If the...

Re: Playing Too Tight??

I would have definatly called there. You almost getting 5:1, and its 7:1 to hit your set. But if you do hit, you will collect lots of bets. ( this is what poker is all about)(and anyone who gives...

Re: 2-4 live game, + or - EV?

So, what is the right forum?

How is this an easy call? If he has T9 Str8 draw, then he has 14 outs, with 2 cards to come, thats 67%, making it even money.

P.S. my read is dead on.

2-4 live game, + or - EV?

Hi all

This is from a 2-4 live game ( $400 buy-in). I've got a decent read on most players, and some very reliable tells on 3.

I've been at the table about an hour, played one hand and am up...

Re: 10s tough decision

it definately looks like you're drawing, and not to the nuts, fold.

you've got very little invested in this small pot, fold

Re: Tight Passive wakes up on river. 5/10

I think flat calling the raise is right. He's only 0.7 on the aggression scale and is raising a scary river.

the options are 3-bet which he only calls with a queen, 3-bet - he folds, 3-bet -...

Heads up vs aggro in ring games

I've been reworking my game lately and have been noticing how hard it is to defend a blind vs a tighter - aggro player.

Say you're in a full ring game and the TAG open riases in late middle...

Re: Two unconventional folds 5/10

Hand 1, folding the turn is fine. With the SB's stats, he's not fooling around and has you beat. A 1.4 doesn't cap the flop on a draw. Also, i've noticed the tight a palyer is pre-flop, the...

Re: 5/10 flopped a flush and it\'s three bets to you

I'm folding any small flush on this flop. Yes I said it.

What do you have? A weak flush on a scary board. Any higher flush beats you, and anyt SINGLE higher heard beats you 33% of the time.

Re: $3/6: easy turn fold for my KK?

Folding the turn is ok with me. From the betting, i put your opponent on an ace. he raised, you 3-bet, he leads the flop, you raise he call, and leads again. Ace little for 2 pair is very...

Re: A donkbet from a suspected rock?

I have to disagree with most and say i HATE your flop call. I think that it is typical of 3-6 ( even from winning players) to call down , but a raise is sooo much better.

By rasieing, he "MAY"...

Re: Line Check-20/40 AK

Why not bet adn 3-bet the flop? If anyone caps, it tells you they really like their hand, since they can't cap on the nut flush draw. Wouldnt' this "define" your hand as pretty strong and willing...

Re: Cash Games - Is it optimal strategy to \"Auto-Fold when raised on Turn?

The only other thing i have to add is that it seems very much an opponent dependant situation.

If there's 5 people in the hand, it's probably not a bluff raise enough for it to be worthwhile to...

Re: Let\'s Play \"Count The Mistakes\"

If raiseing KJs utg right for this game, you're in a great game. Fold the flop. You're basically drawing to another jack, as a king puts a4str8 on board, and any 3rd spade could kill you.
