I would've played it exactly the same, that isn't a good flop for your hand.
Preflop: I think either a call or re-raise is all right, although you can very well be dominated.

Defensive betting in PLO8
I find myself in situations (against 1 or 2 opponents) where I have nut low or weak high and I'm afraid of checking and getting against a pot sized bet so I bet a little less than half the pot...

I would STRONGLY recommend you learn Omaha or Stud.
Or maybe play some Pot Limit Hold'em.
If you want to play NLHE online you need to 1) be very good, 2) have a lot of patience, 3) have a huge...
