Re: Early Venetian DS hand w/KK

Thanks for the comments. Results below (in white just in case there are more comments):

<font color="white"> I did fold. Button also folded. EP did not show. I still believe he had the flush,...

Re: Early Venetian DS hand w/KK

This was pretty much my thinking exactly on the turn, although I'm glad to see some discussion on the decision to check because while I thought the check was best given the circumstances, it also...

Re: Early Venetian DS hand w/KK

This was live so obviously I don't have the hand history. Given what happened on turn, I apparently messed up the flop action in my initial description. It was actually BB who folded to the flop...

Re: Early Venetian DS hand w/KK

Both villains had been pretty active (certainly far more active than I had been), but it was still early and neither had shown down a hand I'd consider out of line with how they played it (frankly,...

Re: Early in a Venetian Deep Stack...

I just posted about a hand I had early in this same tournament. As for yours, I have no problem with your line, but like others, I'm curious as to how it turned out.

Early Venetian DS hand w/KK

This is from the Saturday noon Venetian $540 Deepstack event. It's the late part of level one, with blinds of t25-t50. The table has a few pretty active players; I have only played 1 or 2 hands and...

Re: WSOP Preliminary events questions

This sounds generally correct, but Day 1's conclusion is not triggered by the bubble. Based on the WSOP website, the events typically start at noon on Day 1 and run until 2:00 am. Day 2 starts at...

Re: Patience Factor for WSOP Events

I use the Patience Factor for only one thing: to compare the structure of various tournaments to see which ones provide for more play, at least at the early levels. By comparing the structure of an...

Re: Patience Factor for WSOP Events

The easiest way to calculate this is to download the excel spreadsheet on Snyder's website. All you do is fill in the blinds and level time and it calculates the Patience Factor.

As for your...

Re: Patience Factor for WSOP Events

You are certainly free to find this information uninteresting, and maybe it is. On the other hand, there are countless posts on these forums in which people are trying to compare structures to see...

Re: \"True M\" vs. Harrington\'s M: Critical Flaws in Harrington\'s M Theo

I think part of the problem in these discussions remains the fact that "M" does not have a single meaning, and people focus of different aspects of "M" to suit their purposes. The most obvious...

Patience Factor for WSOP Events

I do not purport to be an expert on Snyder's formula or an advocate for it, but it does seem that his "Patience Factor" tells you at least something, in a single number, about how fast the structure...

Re: Anyone play at Pechanga?

I got a flyer for the "Masters of Poker" event and was also wondering about the blind structure for the $1,080 event. On the website, if you go into the Tournament FAQ link, there's a link at the...

Re: PS $109 Deep Stack: Tough Decision with TPTK

I'm bumping this one time to see if I can get some other thoughts. I really thought this could be a move by someone who saw my flop bet as a standard continuation bet and was trying to push me off...

Re: PS $109 Deep Stack: Tough Decision with TPTK

To the extent it matters, the player behind me was playing, quite literally, any 2 cards. He was like 95/25 over 80 hands, and almost never folded to any bet on the flop, so I think I'm way ahead of...

PS $109 Deep Stack: Tough Decision with TPTK

Second hour of the PS deep stack $109. I have been fairly tight, and have not played a hand for a while. My stack is well above average. Villian has been very tight so far (14/2). Call or fold to...

Re: Winnin O the Green Structures

I've also been trying to get information -- specifically for Friday's $1,070 event. I've not had any luck either. Surely someone out there has been to one of these and picked up a structure sheet? ...

So does this mean that if I'm playing in an event, that friends/family will be able to wander around the room and stand near my table to watch the action, other than in periods before the break when...

I've come back to this thread after a week or so and cannot believe this debate continues. In any event, with regard to the AQ example and whether you can fold a coin flip, leaving yourself with an...

Re: Phil Ivey Gossip

I can't help but chime in here. I agree with Blair that golf betting involves all manner of deception, puffing, and otherwise trying to get an edge. I agree that this is part of the game, and...

Re: LAPC vs. Rincon Circuit Event

Thanks for the info. It sounds like Commerce is probably the place to go. I'm still trying to find out the structure of the Commerce events to see if it really is better.

Structure for LAPC?

Does anyone know the blind structure/starting chips for the $1,060 and $1,580 events at the LAPC? I'm trying to compare it to the WSOP Circuit event at Harrah's Rincon.

LAPC vs. Rincon Circuit Event

I'm planning to play in one of the $1,060 or $1,580/$1,570 events at either the LA Poker Classic at Commerce or the WSOP Circuit event at Harrah's Rincon. I'm trying to decide which will be a better...
