Re: 45 man turbo - playing AQ pre flop with a big-ish stack

I'd be inclined to shove now if you intend to shove anyway after the flop. If you don't plan to shove, then call and see what the flop brings. At worst, you still have just under ~6000, within...

Re: Betting on the river in back to back hands

You're right. Pushing may not be wise here as the stacks are too large for a push. However, I would still consider a reraise. If you're confident your flush is good, then why not reraise, trusting...

Re: Betting on the river in back to back hands

I have no problem with any of the play until that last river. Yes, you are trying to get value. I'd try to get a little more value, around half the pot (t750).

I'm jumping for joy at the reraise...

Re: TKo\'s Hand of the Day: Playing Overcards Near SNG Bubble.

OK, looks like all the responses are in. Villain had T9o and had flopped trips.

I am now playing much tighter at final tables, thinking plays like this and overthinking is a leak needing a...

Re: Lay AA here?

I would call here, but I would not like it. MP2 called $160 into a $660 pot. He could most definitely be playing with T9 here, but with the odds being offered, there is little choice.

Re: 77 at Final Table of Daily Double

(grunch) I think this situation is one of my biggest leaks. I tend to go from a strong position at final tables to out in 4th or 5th place because of plays like this.

I used the same logic here,...

Re: TPTK Facing Shove & Call

(grunch) I certainly would be tempted to fold on flop. The first bet says I have, or can beat, top pair. The second bet states I am not concerned that you have top pair beat. One can have a set.

Re: Things it took me a while to learn part 10, Poker, variance, and life

Brilliant post as usual, Bond. Thankfully I have incorporated most of your advise already. My wife has forced me to go to the gym & cut down on my soda/caffeine consumption.

Unfortunately, steps...

Re: $3.30 MTT - AQ behind Tight Weak and Unknown, M ~ 8

(grunch) It sounds like you have no reasons that either would intentially slowplay a solid hand, although Mr. Weak-Tight may have something. Even weak-tight would tend to raise AA or KK, so AK would...

Re: c bet? i don\'t but just want to hear from you

(grunch) Assuming there are no definitive reads yet, I would be willing to C-Bet here, representing the A. I will adjust the hand based on the Villains' reactions.

I cannot fault a conservative...

Re: First hand of a $2.20MTT pp99 Too aggressive?

(grunch) Let me first start by saying I have an extremely tight range on the first hand only because people do crazy 'double up or join another' strategy in these cheaper tourneys.

Preflop: I...

Re: PS 33 10G Easy resteal w/ 88?

You have only been there for one orbit, so, unless somebody has been a maniac, no reads that you can hang a hat on yet has surfaced. Even with the BB sitting out, MP3 still knows that there are...

This is a 2-table SNG. I do not see why it should be in STT.

Re: Official Review Thread: markbris $10/$100K win

Looking at the first 39 hands, it looked like you had nothing to work with. Clicking on the 'Luck' tab, it ranked your luck factor at 1 (lowest possible). With that amount of (bad) luck, along with...
