Re: Stoxtrader is \"In the Well\"

Hi Stox, great thread.
I just want to know the impact of moving from wallstreet to full time poker had on your family, what were their views, was there a transition from uncertainty to full support?...

Re: How to maximize expectation? (.25/.50 live game 5handed)

Live play is great, there's a lot involved with table image. Assuming you have a good read on the players, I like the way you started this hand. You expect UTG to bet out, and he does expectingly...

Re: 77, straightening board

You're putting Villain on 1 hand? Well basically any combination of 45 suited or not? You have the 2nd nuts right now, and facing draws more often than not, agreed with the snap shove

Re: Spew or +EV?

This hand looks fine KCrow. Your raise from the button is fine preflop. Your all-in is fine as you are ahead quite often

Re: NL 10 - Turned low flush, easy fold?

If you fold here... what was your reason for calling preflop? with 97s, you can't possibly be hoping for a straight flush, full house, quads? You called because you had position on both CO and UTG,...

Re: I hit trips on the turn...what to do?

-not sure why you're just calling on the flop. If you're behind, you're not drawing to many outs, I would reraise here.
-as played the turn will make it $6.9 or roughly $7, this is a great card for...

Re: Check the turn to keep pot small with TP 2nd kicker?

This is quite the dry board, and you're nowhere near the commitment threshold of 1/3 your stack. As played, after the flop bet you've only committed 0.08 into the pot, of your original 3.74, much...

donk bet is small, raise here, raise pot size

[/ QUOTE ]

I do not like a pot sized raise unless you are willing to go AI..A PSR is to $11.25...I would raise to $6-$7 and...

Re: NL25: Raise, ReRaise and I have QQ...?

Villain doesn't have to have AA/KK, but could be trying to isolate MP with position.
I'm not crazy about the preflop call if your read is AA/KK, the rest is played fine.

Re: Buttom two on a scary board

I'm not sure I like the PFR against a SB with those stats, I'm not taking the blinds often enough.
Other than that, the line looks good.

Re: Donked on the turn....

How tight are we talking about? enough that he'll only call 4.5 BB with 99 and up? If he's as tight as you say... the only other viable hands would be T9s, TT that hit the board that you would need...

Re: NL10 turn fiasco

This is almost like a turn continuation bet. If he has a 3, he has you beat, if he has anything else (other than JJ) you're solid, as the 9 counterfeits the 3's. If you're scared he has XJ where X...

Re: 50NL TPGK in a multiway pot

With a flop like that, other than the flush draw, it's as dry as you can get, and you flopped the top pair. The only hands that beat yours are the not so likely hands of 33, 88, kk, AK, AA, 83, K3,...

Re: 50 Deepstack TPTK vs. Aggresive opponent

AQ...one of the great reverse implied odds hands...
There's already great advice here, so I'm not going to reiterate anything said.
More of a comment/question about his stats. With a villain so...

Re: 50NL; AsQh on ddd flop; villian check/calls; leads pot on turn

Here at 2+2 we advocate protecting our blinds, so he should call with any semi-decent hand and probably woulda raised with anything fairly big, given his stats. (if he's following this reasoning). ...

Re: NL10 Flopped TP + Nutflushdraw

You have no reads on any players?
UTG donking minimum, I don't assume he has much, maybe a pair, but if he has a flush, he very well should have reraised for value, although we can't assuming...

Re: 80NL value raise river w/ 2 pair??

I would just call.
People can call with weird stuff in the blinds.
In this case though, he's not betting very much, he's giving you 3.5 to 1 to call, which you will win more than 30% of the time. ...

Re: 25NL - JJ on a tough board

Fold.
You have no reads on the opponent, there's too much out there you lose to, 2 flush draws, and 2 overcards. Maybe the CO was trying to blind steal with nothing, but probably not, you don't...

Re: 10NL - TPTK in small pot facing river overbet

Turn: If you would bet the flop, why not bet this turn? are you afraid of a straight?
River: based on that, why wouldn't you shoot on a river that just made you stronger? (if he only called your...
