Re: Does Villian have odds to call with pockets??

What I have been noticing is that amount of cold calling raises. I always had one of HUD numbers tuned into CC% and anything above 1% I assumed the guy was a fish.

NL - I see 10% often and many...

Re: Does Villian have odds to call with pockets??

djshawk - you forget about fold equity.

I'm running an experiment by playing nothing but short stack games. I have read in so many places that short stacks have an advantage over deep stacks that...

Re: Push with this Set?

I will raise when first to act 100% of the time UNLESS I have medium (TT or less) pocket pairs.

Then I'll go in for the min and fold if I miss. Why raise, create a small pot and then miss. I'm...

Re: AK - too weak? too strong? Opinions?

My thinking was that a pot size bet was going to fold the action so I was thinking 75% of the pot.

The slider kept going from 40 to 1.10 back and forth and then a pop up window HUD started to act...

Re: Push with this Set?

You would raise Pre flop because it's almost short handed?

My feeling is I WANT people in the hand so limping is the way to build the pot.

Re: Preflop call in NL?

I was a 5/10 limit player and switching - this is a great call.

Think about implied odds and not drawing odds.

What is great about this is that it's an easy fold on the flop OR a great money...

OK from the article.

The peddlers of the biggest myth will tell you that having a shorter stack then everyone else puts you at a disadvantage. Not only are they wrong, but the opposite is true. ...

Concerning Short amd Big Stacks /table conditions

There must be some table conditions that would make playing one over the other preferable.

Re: FR Theory - stack sizes and how you should modify to them

Issues - You say that a person should play with 100BB for best results - yet you also say that 100BB "allows good LAGS to really play hard at a table, winning lots of small pots . . . . . ."

But...

Re: FR Theory - stack sizes and how you should modify to them

Interesting - I've been playing 60BB because I did not like being short stacked YET - did not like having the possibility to lose 100BB.

SO - I've been playing implied odds as a 100BB player YET...

Re: AQ on the Button - 1 limper

I have to agree. Seems I'm stuck in the middle. I was 40BB but have been moving up as I get more used to the play in NL.

Understood - again - just going on what the FAQ in the NL area says "never cbet".

I cbet but I'm timid because SO FAR - I'm always beaten! Again - only 1000 hands.

You say " cbet like you mean...

Re: AQ on the Button - 1 limper

I agree - I think 60 is a tweener. I WANT to play 40BB but think I'm more of a 100 player - yet - I don't want to get tilty and lose 100 because of some bone call that I'm not used to yet.

Re: AQ on the Button - 1 limper

Well - according to Miller the advantage is that FOR ME all stacks are the same size. It is a BIG advantage to be the short stack among large stacks . . .and Vice versa.

In fact "having a "large...

Re: AA raising pre flop ????

17/9/3 after 1000 hands - I play short stacked because I have an advantage over the big stacks (according to Malmuth and Miller) so fit and fold is typically how it is played - correct.

And I...
