Why does jt98 differ much from 9876 for you? If anything your opponents are less likely to hold cards from 9876 than from jt98 as people will play jjxx and kqt9 much more than kqt6 or...

Ace suited hands are fine but they need to be a876 or a986 type hands to get good value. don't hesitate to play 4-7 wraps if they are suited. In fact, many people raise with those hands...

Preflop is fine, once you hit your 9 the raise is good.
Did you call on the flop to see what he would do on the turn? What if he bet 3/4 pot or full pot?
What if he bet 1/2 pot on the turn and...
