Re: % of profit from pairs

Hi, kev. My pairs break down as

AA: 41%
KK: 12%
QQ: 14%
JJ: 14%
TT-22: 45%

Oops that doesn't add up correctly. I just divided my profit with each hand by my total profit. I guess that...

Re: When going to the bigger games works

I think this hand is played perfectly. Don't listen to the rock gallery. When everyone limps at a passive table, this is an instacomplete in the SB, just looking for exactly the kind of flop you...

Re: One day you will run worse than you ever thought possible

I think you already understand this, but I want to emphasize that you'd only be down half that if you played a lot of these hands better.

Don't think that loose players can't have good hands,...

Re: What Does a Pause Before Betting Mean-Strong or Weak?

Doesn't anyone ever see this from good players with weak hands? I see it often as a fake tell to induce their opponent to check behind on the river with hands that can would like a showdown but...

He's 50/25/2, very LAG in HU situations.

Lower straight on this board is rarely the nuts.
Even you are the nuts on flop, you are likely get outdrawn
facing two all ins and your hand cannot improve anymore.

Thx for the replies.

I did call. ...it's just that I've been getting owned in these spots is the past week so I was starting to doubt myself. We'll just put it in the "variance" folder....

Re: congratulations on your ace

Advice here is pointless without a real read (not PT stats). Some players will do this with a small pocket pair because they are representing an A. Some players would wait until the turn to raise...

Re: JJ low flop

Either all-in or fold. You're either even money against a A/images/graemlins/spade.gifx/images/graemlins/spade.gif, a big dog against a set, or crushing a mid pocket pair. With the money already in...

PLEASE bet $3. We just leapfrogged KQ, and beat so many random hands this [censored] could have at this limit.

Re: NL50: QQ on KKx flop

For the curious, I pushed and he called with JJ. Whether that was a brilliant play or just dumb luck, I'll probably never know, but I think in the future I may fold the flop.

Re: NL50: QQ on KKx flop

That is a really great post, thanks. I was kind of thinking this when I decided to write down his possible hands and realized that he has a K a huge fraction of the time. ...

Re: NL50: QQ on KKx flop

I'm not sure if this will help or just confuse, but here is how I think about these things:

He's a decent player, so I think he's thinking at least at the 1st level (what does my opponent have?). ...

My reasoning: AK wouldn't pot it here.

Re: NL50: QQ on KKx flop

Thanks everyone for the commentary.

Wouldn't a flop call on that board be suspicious to you? If you have TT, would you be done with it, or would you call a smallish bet on the end? What about...

NL50: QQ on KKx flop

I'm still not experienced enough at NL to tell if I'm clever or just a donk.

I'm at a horrible table (3 good, but not great, TAGs and 1 fish), and I open UTG for $2 with QQ ($59). It's folded to...

NL100: Overs and a flush draw

I'm more of a limit player, so I'm looking for basic advice.

Villain is a typical loose passive from these limits. My UTG limp is experimental, so forget about that.

On the flop, the push...

Re: (2/4) Waiting until the river

Not really. Even if he bets the river 100% of the time, raising the turn is still better, because of what range of hands call the raises.

Re: (2/4) Waiting until the river

One extra BB if called. When you weigh the bets gained if called times the probability of villain calling, you'll see that a turn raise makes you more by a small fraction.
