Playing 2nd best hand in multiway pots(limit games)

Hi all,
OK, it's easy to play the best hand, you just jam as much as you can I suppose... But, what is the correct strategy to follow when you have the 2nd best hand in a multiway pot in limit...

Actually, with 99% certainty I know where I am. What I don't know is that if my opponent will fold a x,y,3,8,9 at 6th, and if he will fold at 7th if he doesn't improve.

I would fold at 5th,your chances of making 8 low by the river is about 14%, and there is no guarantee that it will be enough to win. There are 2 draws to 9 high, so your T is pretty worthless. Also...

I would definetely raise 4th, I dont think you are underdog to any hand with the cards that are out. Even if you are a slight underdog, raising is correct becuase there is a 3rd player in the hand.

The players I mentioned were not maniacs. They were just stealing way too often.

And not reraising someone who completed in steal position(espeically in cash games) with a 3-card 8 is a big sin in...

This is a question from Sklanskly's book, and there wasnt more infomormation there neither...
I think, we can assume there was nothing extraordinary, so table was 6-8 handed, at 3rd it was completed...

Rusty, I think the problem here is, if I have the winning hand on 7th, (probably) I wont be able to bet so I will win a 6BB pot. If my opponent has the winning hand, he will probably have me...
