Re: Live $1/$2 game, tricky AA, 250BB deep...

(**note**: results are in this post, if you are not interested in the results stop reading now)

Thanks for the thoughts. The check-call to river (providing he doesn't shove) seems like not a...

Re: Live $1/$2 game, tricky AA, 250BB deep...

Does anyone ever check the dry flop for pot control?

Also, someone mentioned re-raising the flop and folding...? How do we put in > 1/2 our stack and then fold? And actually a meaningful raise is...

[ QUOTE ]
I'd 3bet the flop. You're almost always ahead here, so why not? Make it 300.

[/ QUOTE ]

And fold to shove? Or call shove?

What range do you put the villian on? If he shoves in...

Re: NL50: 3 barrels against 2+2er

Grunch.

I love your thinking, but I don't like the player you chose to apply it to.

15/12/1. It's the 1 that disturbs me. He's been extremely passive over his 40ish hands.

If he calls you...

Live $1/$2 game, tricky AA, 250BB deep...

I post here because the 200nl game at this casino plays a lot like the 50nl online (and probably even worse).

Effective stacks around $500, full ring (9 players).

I'm sitting in the hijack. Two...

Re: Hand Reading: Gussing Game

Grunch.

You asked from the villian's perspective and you said the villian is a fish.

So this may seem trite, however, as a fish:

I'm calling you down with whatever Ax I raised with. I'm...

Mountain View, CA Cardrooms

Anyone have a list of good card rooms in or very close to Mountain View, CA? Looking for FR or short-handed $1/$2 no limit hold em.

I found something called the R Club Lounge on google but the...

Re: one of the weirdest hands i\'ve played in a while

At the turn it's easy. Check/fold. He is ultra-passive, isn't going to bet anything you beat here, and you get to see his hand regardless.

Even the worst players know they have to show their hand...

Everyone who's saying leading for 3.5-4$ ?
why so much?
what about a 1/2 pot bet?
Doesnt it accomplish it the same?

Re: one of the weirdest hands i\'ve played in a while

Grunch.

Board is very dry. There is only one good straight draw. While it's tough to do, I think you can still lead for $4 or so. UTG probably has PP < JJ which is an easy fold for him when you...

Re: 2 pair flush on board 25NL

Grunch.

Pre-flop: I prefer raising to 4xBB here, but 3xBB is fine.

Post-Flop: I prefer raising to $3 here. He could donk with a weaker King, a queen, an OESD, and a flush draw. If he checks the...

Re: TPGK Minraised

Just as an excercise in figuring out his range, wouldn't A-x clubs be in his range here ?

Also would you expect someone call with Q-10 o or Q-9s and then minraise the flop ? I also...

Re: Sick river card with the nut straight

Grunch.

I shove the turn. He's already committed half his nearly half his stack. I don't think he's folding to a shove.

If his hand was terrible or just had a draw, I think he check-raises the...

Re: Bluffing

First immediate thought, when an aggressive villian slows down, he often has a big hand... An aggressive villian is usually looking for a multitude of ways to steal pots. If you check the...

Re: TPGK Minraised

AQ, KQ would be beating you but I think you see a raise in general from those hands, but KQ is still in his range. I think AQ is out.

QT and Q9s might be in his range. The only other hands that he...

Against a 2p2 villain calling AK is ok occusionally for some meta game purposes and to confuzzle him.

You do, however, need to raise somewhere. Flop looks good cause he will play back...

Another one of those depends type hands... so let's talk about it.

You said your range for him after the flop was AJ+, ATs+, 98s.

Given that range it is a clear call on the river:

Re: 300 BB deep - straight flush

If you are going to play 89s UTG, please raise it up. If the SB still comes along for the ride you are playing hand with great implied odds against a big stack.

As played, you MUST bet...

Re: NL50 PF: QQ vs 4bet

Grunch. I raise to 7-9 (opponent dependent) or call.

Whether I call or raise depends on my opp. With a 13% PFR, he's raising all his PP's and AK,AQ and probably AJs, KQ/KQs. If he's raising with...

Re: KK- sick turn card against bad aggro villain

Grunch.

If the villian has a tendency of calling 3-bets, I would charge him more pre-flop. I'd also bet even closer to pot on the flop. After the turn I check/fold.

If he is that terrible...

Re: Is these a bad bluff?

With this particular post, you can show the villian checking on the river and follow it with "Hero...?". By showing that the villian called the river, you are going to probably get skewed...
