Re: $26 - 45 sng bubble

I don't know if you've played these SNGs, but they play REALLY tight -- in general.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, I haven't played these, and in fact my SNG experience is limited to...

Re: two top ten hands facing 3 bets what do i do in each $30 ps

1. Fold. UTG is an idiot for not open shoving and if it were just him, I'd shove. The addition of MP2 raise means we're either a coin flip or crushed with 99...fold.

2. Shove it and don't look...

Re: 12/180 turbo - Top Set on a Monotone Flop

Take a look at the posts here were guys even with JJ and QQ run into a Big Bet from the New Big Stack and get advised/convinced that backing down is a good idea because you're either a coin flip or...

Re: Yay slick early in BB with 4 limps; now the sb is raising

I know how to count and that is what I was suggesting.

What's SB going to do, call? He'll push all in and it's an easy call for us; I'm not looking to Fold, I'm looking to call a Push.

Re: 12/180 turbo - Top Set on a Monotone Flop

The raise here, which I'm not clearly recommending but just offering as an alternative, is to try to train the table to back down and it's a judgement call. Most people would rather quote from the...

Re: Ax suited late position facing all in. $11+1 stars 180sng turbo.

Limping in Turbos with marginal hands is like aiming a toy gun at a Marine Squad; it's just gonna get you killed.

With 3 folds and a limp, I'd very well might raise to 500 w Axs...it definately a...

Re: 12/180 turbo - Top Set on a Monotone Flop

Calling PF is fine, but since we're big stack nothing wrong with playing New Kid on the Block Big Stack Poker and popping it to 1K here just to see what the table is like.

I'd call.

I think...

I'm confused, UTG folded how is he still in the hand?

Re: Yay slick early in BB with 4 limps; now the sb is raising

Two choice: Raise to 600-800 or shove with shoving way out in front. Calling is just dead wrong.

Re: Sunday 100 grand Hows my line here?

So he had 3 sets in a few orbits...that's a Six Sigma Event and nothing we can do about it.

CC w JJ PF isn't set mining: it's tragic.

In any event it's irrelevant to what our move is on the...

Re: $26 - 45 sng bubble

This is an easy Push.

In fact, Kx here is almost a mandatory push at this stage.

If you want to have any hope of winning these on a regular basis you have to get use to shoving in these...

Re: Sunday 100 grand Hows my line here?

So BTN busted 2 players and has only 3K in chips? He busted 2 very short stacks, no?

Flop: 2K in the pot we have 2.2K and TPTK with a Draw-y board; I'd shove here.

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

I probably don't play enough NL cash to fully Grok the essence of the recos in the book, but overall the SPR and Commitment Threshold concepts are clearly very thought provoking.

I found the "but...

Re: Another tough river spot, same villain$4.40

J8s is a fairly reasonable hand to raise with PF. What is accomplished by limping OOP?

I don't necessarily believe that villain needed a K or 4 to call the Flop bet, and after the Turn check, and...

Central Database and Player Note Repository

What if 2+2 maintained a database of player stats, this way we could look up any villain from any site. Would also be great if for every listed player we had those PAHUD numbers everyones fallen in...

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position

My initial reaction is to pop it to 15 or 16K, because BB has us both covered and if we flat call with JJ, and BB makes it 20K to go what's our line, fold? I'd rather be the one asking the tough...

Re: When they call three streets and then open pot the river?

If he's got a 9 or QT, wouldn't he CR or just shove?

It's a hand where you have to trust your gut because you can't tell anything from Villain betting pattern. He's calling Flop and Turn after PF...

Re: How did I play this?

If we're playing T5 from the SB we're raising with it. Why play a terrible hand OOP?

Our bets never meant anything, the story they told was "Well, I don't know why I'm here but be a pal and fold,...

Re: Quick pre-flop pussy or prudent question

I beg people to turn off PokerAce for this very reason! The numbers don't mean dick, especially in a small sample!

Look at how badly Villain is playing here, what difference does it make if he's...

Re: In the Money but in the Death Zone

[/ QUOTE ]so you think waiting for a better hand so you can double up to 14-15k might possibly be better than pushing and trying to pick up chips/double up when you already do have 15k?

Re: AA early in tournament - best way to proceed

With a lot of callers the best way to proceed is...cautiously!

Be willing to let it go an a coordinated Flop or a flop of all paint. Ideally we LOVE to see another A drop.

(Oh BTW, I heard...

Re: In the Money but in the Death Zone

Solid, spot on analysis.

How would JTs hold up against the same range assuming that the pot was 5.5, I push for 7 and get at least one caller with the same range?

Re: Satellite- No idea how to play this spot

A call will still discourage blind stealing attempts.
Even if you were to fold after the flop.

Personally, my results have been getting much better since I stopped over valuing hands like A K and...

Re: Satellite- No idea how to play this spot

First, you're nowhere near the point where you can sit back and blind your way into the money, so passive play here is a HUGE mistake. You may look close, but this is like jumping the Grand Canyon...
