Re: Big draw, bet turn or take free card?

Meh I guess no responses means this is really boring and standard and it doesn't matter what I do here.

Re: 400NL 99 facing C/R

Players with an AF that low are generally pretty weak. I think 99 is a fairly straightforward fold here. While this might be a pure bluff very occasionally, huge majority of the time this is going to...

Re: The JESUS Draw... All-in

Raise preflop, raise more on flop. If remaining player on the turn is a total station and won't fold, take your free card.

Re: You wake up and... remember nothing about poker

This is actually a pretty good post OP. I don't know that I would actually get better any faster the second time around though because so much of your improvement is just a matter of experience.

Big draw, bet turn or take free card?

Villain is 20/15/2.3. Likes to call steal raises from the blinds with suited As, suited connectors, etc. Also calls quite a lot of flops.

Do we bet turn or take free card? What factors weigh into...

Re: weird TPGK in multiway pot

If BB is genuinely passive then he's probably not donking the turn into three players with a worse hand or draw. Combine that with the possibility that the players behind you could have a better hand...

Re: Advice for facing preflop 3 bet

OP these are all good questions that I think we all have when moving up to midstakes but unfortunately the answers are too player-specific and depend on your own general playing style that it appears...

AK gets min-donked twice

Villain is 45/3/2.56 and obviously a donk. Do we bomb away at the turn again or just call? Looked to me like a flush draw or weaker ace.

Shoving river would be way too thin though, right?

2/4...

Re: River decision 200bbs deep v donk

[ QUOTE ]
Everything missed; against a donk I would snap call.

[/ QUOTE ]

Other info I didn't include was that he insta-shoved the river when I checked. I'm never snap calling 150bbs in this...

Re: River decision 200bbs deep v donk

I didn't think he would call the flop c/r with a J. It looked to me like a 3, the case 2, or the club draw.

Re: Just Got Patrik Antonius Answer To The Question I Asked Kenny Tran

[ QUOTE ]
I wonder what it is in the way people operate/think that makes one more attracted to the casino lifestyle of poker as opposed to staying home grinding daily.

Re: NL 400 turn call

I can go either way here. Given how drawy the board is I think bet/fold is good vs this type of opponent.

[ QUOTE ]
Why did you check the river?

[/ QUOTE ]

To induce a bluff from missed clubs. Not a shove though. As bad as this guy was I didn't see any value in betting the river.

Re: KK river decision, I am confused

I'm interested in the suggestion to bet turn. I thought checking here was standard. We can't expect to get value from worse hands by betting, so are we doing it to protect our hand and avoid this...

River decision 200bbs deep v donk

Villain is 46/30/0.75 over 71 hands. I have seen him all in on a K-J-2 flop with A2.

The clubs have missed. Is river an auto call? Fold? Comments on other streets appreciated too if I have...

Re: NL2/4 Getting resqueezed

[ QUOTE ]

i genuinely think 2+2ers often think too much on a level beyond what's necessary against semi-unknown opponents. like putting a guy on a resqueeze because "he must think i'm squeezing"...

KK river decision, I am confused

Villain is 20/14/2.9. Appears your typical TAG.

I don't understand the river shove. If he's bluffing there are two possibilities: either he is good enough to turn a made hand like JJ into a bluff,...

Re: 400NL,

Looks fine to me. You're going to see missed spades and something else random a decent percentage of the time.

Re: QQ turn play question

When you bet call this turn oop, you will be way behind way too often. This is an awful flop/turn for your hand in a reraised pot. Id def fold river without a read.

QQ turn play question

No stats or reads on villain at the time. Is it better to bet/fold or c/c turn in this spot? Only reason I don't bet/fold is that I'd hate to get raised off the OESD, but OTOH betting probably makes...

Barny Boatman on gambling
