Re: Razz: .50/1 daily special

Sklansky bucks are a measure of how much equity you gain or lose with your action, assuming that you could see your opponents' cards.

In this case, if you could see your opponents' cards on 4th...

Re: Razz: .50/1 daily special

Hey, give the guy credit for calling 4th with the best hand. He was at the table, seeing the absolute crap that these guys play. Folding 4th would have cost him some Sklansky bucks.

Re: Limp behind hand in razz

If we can confidently put Seat 2 on starting with a three-card 7, there are 118 possible combinations of down cards he could have when the action comes to us on 5th street. We're ahead of 36 of...

Also you can very well be behind on 5th here I'm not usually raising with an 87, I'd call.

The raise on 5th is likely intended to sandwich Seat 6, who called with a T-9...

Re: Fulltilt froze my account with 47 grand in it

Sounds kinda like nabbing Al Capone for tax evasion. They took her money for "botting", couldn't prove it, found out she had multiple accounts, figured that would do, and used it as...

Re: .5/1 Razz hand

[ QUOTE ]
...there are some pretty good players there but what the heck was this guy's "strategy?" Was he thinking on 4th - if I catch perfect-perfect-perfect I'll have a winning Ten hi!

Re: nut flush on river, can I call here?

[ QUOTE ]
In my experience, even at micro limits it's unusual for someone to raise on the river with a non-nut flush on a paired board.

I was part of a microstakes O/8 hand recently...

Re: Very confusing razz hand

[ QUOTE ]
In hindsight, the bet on 6th might be bad, but who wouldn't bet into that board?

Check-fold sixth. Based on the earlier play, there is no way he's folding before...

Re: 5-10 Razz....line check

Of all the things that can go wrong, the highest probability is probably that Villain will check behind you on 7th and you lose the check/raise opportunity.

For that reason, I suspect that the...

Re: 5-10 Razz....line check

The only reason to flat call 6th is to trap on the river. Either reraise 6th or check/raise 7th, one or the other; you are better than an 80% favorite on 6th street, and not trying to extract an...

Re: Too tricky for low stakes?

Fold 3rd. Fold 4th. Fold 5th. Yes, even though you're showing 2-3-4, they're going to put you on a low hand or a low draw, most likely not a made straight, and they're obviously both going high. ...

Re: Razz: Would you play this diffirent?

I would bet the river. Otherwise, I'd probably play it the same.

And I don't bet the river because I think it's +EV. In fact, it's most likely -EV, but I do it for metagame purposes, because it...

Re: What would be the best limit to start at?

Rusty, I think most likely it's just a semantic difference in how we're treating +/- 1%.

To me, if the EV is 4400 (in 8800 trials), +/- 1% is the range [4356...4444]. The +/- 1% being one percent...

Re: What would be the best limit to start at?

Actually, you probably need a lot more trials than that to have a strong chance of being within 1% of the expected value.

For instance, the number of heads expected in a coin flip is 0.5 with 0.5...

Re: Razz-caution or coward?

IMO, bet the river in the 2nd hand.

Almost certainly, he did not have a made 7-5 on 6th street. If he had 7-4-3-2 (or better) on 4th street, that's pretty much an automatic bet even against scary...
