Re: AJ postflop [22$ end-game], horrible?

AJo is well worth considering laying down in that spot. But not AJs. Not in NLTs. It is well worth playing, but if you are going to play it, then make it worthwhile and raise more. The small raise...

Re: Call river bet with second pair?

It is a problem because it tells me that opponent knows very little about how to really use position. Anyone who can read a book knows that you can and should raise with almost any 2 from the button...

Re: Call river bet with second pair?

If one flops two pair with 67 and thinks opponent may have AK with top pair, then why on Earth would anyone consider slow playing? This is an outstanding opportunity to extract chips.

Re: Live Tourney - Play the hand for me!

If you believe your Queens are good (and I see few reasons why you shouldn't), then your only possible play is to stick it in there. Any pot-sized or less bet prices in any reasonably high single...

Re: Call river bet with second pair?

In addition to the 6, opponent could easily have a little pair like 5's or 4's. He pretty much advertised that he didn't care for the flop, although I'd probably bet a pocket pair into that flop.

Re: 1+.20 18man possible semi-bluff

If I'm SB, I'll bet into a flop like that with darn near any hand that could be played in that situation. Your range of a flush draw semibluff is too narrow. What else could SB be playing and how...

Re: 1+.20 18man top pair/flush draw

Given the preflop play, under what circumstances could you even consider laying this hand down? Button may have possibly have you outkicked or a set of dueces. In those cases, you have around 10-12...

Re: Fat stack, middle pocket pair, late stage

Interesting situation. On the surface, it seems like a push or fold situation, and you can only call if you are prepared to overcall a reraise. Fortunately, your stack size may allow you that luxury....

Re: He cold-called my check-raise and others came along. Now what?

Why aren't you value betting your top pair in this situation? This is a decent board, but not a great board. Certainly not good enough to risk giving away a free card.

In this situation, IMHO, the...

Re: SB Short Stack

Ok, my thoughts exactly. In my head, before the cards are dealt, I'm thinking any Ace, any King, any pair and any connectors over about 5,6. Fold percentage has to be pretty good, probably 50% or...

Sorry, BB has SB covered by about 600-800.

SB Short Stack

B&M NLT, 70K chips in play, 17 runners left, 6 places paying but only decent money is in the top 3 places.

Blinds are 300/600. 2400 left and in SB. Folded to SB. No reads on opponent, but general...

Re: Varying the size of your opening raises - useful or waste of time?

Again, it's not so much the size of the raise but the rationale behind the raise.

- Are you raising to drive people out (e.g., maybe you have AT and a raise will get an AJ to fold)?

- Are you...

Re: 4 bet semi bluff vs. Esfandiari

His table position to Hero's immediate left is an important factor, but not the only factor. This is a fairly full table not head up. Villain still has to think about players to his left in addition...

Re: JJ, wtf action

In that kind of donk-fest, I don't think there's any way to fold the Jacks preflop. With a weak flop like that and the preflop action to your left, I'd definitely be looking to check raise jam and...

Re: 4 bet semi bluff vs. Esfandiari

After he says he folded JJ, you ask what color. If he says red, then you say BS because you had two Jacks, one black and one red.

Good play though. I'm surprised he would have risked so much of...

Re: 4 bet semi bluff vs. Esfandiari

Haven't read the other replies yet, but it looks like he is trying to put you to a decision for all of your chips. This tells me that he probably has big Ace or a pair minimum and I wouldn't expect...

Re: Varying the size of your opening raises - useful or waste of time?

Ok, so in a hypothetical, you're now seated at a table with Greenstein, Harrington and Raymer.

Do you honestly think you have a chance raising 2x or 3x every time you are first in a pot? Probably...

Re: How is this deal for me?

It has nothing to do with stamina. It has to do with getting into situations to play in 2-3-4 handed games. The only way to get this experience is to get to the end. The average player is so weak in...

Re: AJ, A on flop late in $4/180

Absolutely raise or fold preflop, 100%. The weak-ass limp is what let CO hang around with his weak-ass AT long enough to make the straight on the river. Leading out on the river is by far the worst...

Re: How is this deal for me?

Forget about the money. You lost because you need practice and experience going down to the end, playing 4-way, playing 3-way, playing head-up. If you're playing $3-entries, then you're still mainly...

Re: I Follow Him to Serve My Turn Upon Him

At first I said easy call, but after thinking about it, I think this is worth a raise. A lot depends on your past interaction with him. He might fold, but the way he's played the hand, I'd say the...

Re: Anyone like this push?

Easy jam. No brainer. What else are you going to do, wait another 10-12 hands for a better starting hand?

Re: Min raising KQ preflop

[ QUOTE ]
You have 2.200 in chips, CO(one of the button) whit KQo in the hole, tree limpers, the blinds are 200/100.

What would you do?

You could fold.

[/ QUOTE ]

Folding is awful, in...

Re: Something is Rotten in the State of Denmark

Aside from the other comments that this is probably a fold, and not even a close fold IMHO, I had a couple of other comments.

Is her tell a real tell or a fake tell? Why are you interested in...
