Re: NL10 : flop set, how much to 4bet?

[ QUOTE ]
You should be open raising any pocket and a wide range from the CO especially.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure I agree with this statement, particularly when you are in EP/MP w/low pocket...

Re: NL25 - Time to Fold Aces?

So, Charger, are you saying that raising the turn is going to cause him to fold so we should not raise?

Re: Bluff with fours at NL25

[ QUOTE ]
I'm wondering if I'm too aggressive lately. Whenever someone check-calls on the flop or shows weakness like tanking here, I can't resist firing a second barrel, even with a scary board (in...

Re: hand history, AA with nut flush draw to an all in

I agree that you have to fold. It is very hard to get away from though, and I can't say I would've been able to in the heat of battle. I think it really comes down to paying very close attention to...

Re: check behind or fire

Is it because of only one limper or just in general with this type hand?
I'm not real keen on the PF either, but I know that in order to win tournaments, one has to build their chip stacks. This...

Re: Possible dilemma in the late stages

[ QUOTE ]
Could you give a little explanation of why the open shove is preferrable over what I did? I have never really understood it I guess. I seem to be in the minority, but I almost always...

Re: Making Deals at Final Tables

Lloyd,
You make some excellent points, particularly regarding the effective stack sizes with the blinds so high, and overestimating any edge you 'think' you may have.
I think the big issue is...

Re: NL50: AJ vs Unknown C/R

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Based on hero calling the C/R on the flop, what would've been the better way to play this for the villain? I see myself in these situations many times, and know I must...

Re: NL50: AJ vs Unknown C/R

[ QUOTE ]
This looks like a badly misplayed high pair to me. QQ or KK, raising your flop bet "to find out where i'm at", and then ignoring the information you give him.

[/ QUOTE ]Based on hero...

Re: it\'s all about fishin\' man

[ QUOTE ]
Yes it is boring way to play, but nitty play allows me to play drunk which is very fun. (1 week sample size)

[/ QUOTE ]How do you play nitty drunk?!! To me that seems like an oxymoron....

Re: Card Dead in MTT - When to start calling/trying to steal

Thanks hamnegger for the comments as to needing at some point here to make decisions based on feel to some extent in these situations.

Re: Card Dead in MTT - When to start calling/trying to steal

[ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah, and as someone else pointed out, try not to run JTs into QQ.

[/ QUOTE ]
The key word is try. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Seems that always happens that when it comes time to...

Re: Card Dead in MTT - When to start calling/trying to steal

Thanks, this makes a LOT of sense. As I've been thinking about it, I realize that what you said (Any move must have +EV) is really the key.
And I do understand that shoving is better than...

Card Dead in MTT - When to start calling/trying to steal

I searched for posts on this topic, but didn't find any, but if there are, please point me to them.

In multi-table tournaments, where you don't get cards or get playable cards out of position,...

Re: nl50 QQ... the bets are weak, but i think im in trouble here...

This is a good one. Raise to $12 and see what happens. I think folding is weak.
In looking at this further, my guess is UTG is slow-playing AA/KK. The weak raise and the continual calling makes me...

Re: AK: could have extrated more money

As has been said, you want to raise the flop and raise the turn.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it looks like you rivered the nut-flush. Thus, I think your shove is too heavy.

Re: 25NL KQs in the BB, is this horrible?

[ QUOTE ]
Ignoring preflop...bet/3bet is best on the flop. You want to be the one pushing, not the one calling off all your chips.

SD fan, I'm a bit unclear on the bet/3bet...

Guy is raising from EP and you will be playing a RIO hand OOP. Without a really good read this is a fold PF.

Re: Live play Tendencies ....

Re: Live play Tendencies ....

I see this a lot too! To me it seems sort of [censored] up. Firstly, I don't really understand the $15 to go pre-flop. Should I change my raising criteria then?

Re: Overplaying KK?

I think Jauron hit the nail on the head right here, and I believe pzhon mentioned it too. No need to make pot size bets AND the fact he called TWO pot sized bets...you are in deep doo doo. :>
