once you called the flop, u'd only raise on the later streets if u were willing to call an all in with it.

I think it's a fine play. I'd put him on a medium-strong jack aswell, so a turn bet would scare him off, but the river bet may induce a call from him as it may look like ur bluffing

Yeah, definately need to raise more as often these low limit players feel committed to call a moderate raise, with less than moderate holdings after they've put money in the pot. You also might catch...

Betting the turn might get the guy to fold an overpair as he might put u on an 8. If he calls, u still might have 6 outs, plus uve got position. But i'd probably toss it if he raises
