as far as i know there are glare and nonglare notebooks available,so i guess a nonglare would work fine outside.it is ,however, a pain to detect which notebooks have the first...

i dont think there are any pci cards out supporting that resolution,but if you have a agp-slot you could get a gfx 7900 GS,which works perfectly for me.
