Re: Where are Zee and Sucker?

I totally understand Mason's unwillingness to publish a subpar book. Perhaps one or two of the better sections could appear in the magazine? That might soothe some of the disappointment people have...

Re: Rate my recent Amazon book purchase list

Nickel and Dimed is a fantastic book. Then again, I lean to the left, just like the author. The book has a great deal of literary value, though. It could easily be taught in a literary journalism...

Re: Short handed limit holdem - Book / DVD Recommendations.

I posted a shorthanded LHE reading list a while back: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=7797110&an=&page=0&vc=1. This was before Stox's book came out, so it's a little out...

Re: Best beginner\'s book for Limit?

I haven't read the Byron Jacobs book, but given the quality of his other stuff, I'm sure it's very good. When I was helping my friend learn the game, I had him read Getting Started in Hold'em,...

Re: Help with My Poker Library

Re: LHE vs NLHE popularity

In my experience, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas has consistently focused more on NL than FL. When I was there last summer, I played $6/$12 and the game broke up within an hour. They had plenty of...

Re: Players to look out for on FTP $2/$4

My apologies to anyone who finds this thread inappropriate. I wouldn't have posted it if I had not seen the other thread.

Players to look out for on FTP $2/$4

I saw a similar thread for $3/$6 and $5/$10. I've run into one or two of them but not many. I'm new and I mostly play $2/$4. Which TAGs and semi-LAGs should I try to avoid?

It also presents poker as a skill game and portrays the hero as someone with integrity and worthy of respect trying to make it in a very tough and complex world. This is certainly the...

Re: Essential Reads for a Learning Player

For Limit Hold'em:

I recommend Getting Started In Texas Hold'em. It's by far the best beginner's book you can find. I wish it was published when I first started playing.

Sklansky's Hold'em...
