Re: $100NL Cut Off Raise W/66, RR from Button, fold ?

I like it as is, though I'm no expert.

You raised 4x the BB which isn't much compared to stack size but it should be enough to get rid of anyone who doesn't have something playable and might take...

D_D :

Nice, that's the kind of thinking I was looking for, thanks. You see so many taking 2nd pair too far and pushing like this with AK bare that you begin to think that top pr with a straight...

Raise flop to .5$. Either call the turn (and get the CO's dead money in the pot without reopening the betting) or raise enough to commit yourself to the hand, 2.25 or so (I don't know...

Curious why you mini-raised SB on the turn?

It seems to me that is a bad play. It neither protects your TP + OESD from the two flush draws, nor does it really fold out any better...

What would you do here?

First, I'd like to say that I've tried every hand converter listed and none of them work with the hand histories from Bugsy's (Planet Ace Gibraltar Limited) so I'll have to hand type this as legibly...

V & Brag: Poker God\'s dog house PT2

Those who read my thread about being in the poker god's dog house know that I took a string of around 9 beats and dumb mistakes to lose 4 of 5 buy ins and like 4 SnG's, 2 of those on the bubble, and...

Re: POKER MORALS/ETHICS....What do you think of this situation...

I missed the part of:

"I'm on the phone with him and im like "i'm a go play the Ceasar's tournament, do you want half my action in it?' and he said "I dunno..it depends if i get there on...

Re: POKER MORALS/ETHICS....What do you think of this situation...

Question:

"...I'll get half your action in everything..."

When you agreed to this before going on the trip, was it to be truly everything or just what he was there for at the buy in? If it was...

Re: Who played this hand worse?

MP3 rasied 10% of his stack PF on a weak ace... not the greatest move but there have been worse mistakes.

Maybe he didn't expect the button to call the check raise? Not sure but it looks as if he...

In the Poker God\'s dog house...

I can handle the usual beat or two or even three... but this past 2 days has been a nightmare since I had one good finish in a decent size tourney.

I took second out of around 1500 people and got...

Re: 3SP: A new NLHE format that requires skill, not recklessness.

I look at it this way:

- An MTT is like a race... finish in the top whatever to make money, which is the goal.

- At the start of each race, there seem to be people who don't care about trying...

Re: Spread Limit article

Nate,

Love the article! After dealing with a bunch of nonsense in some low buy in and freeroll NLHE MTT's, I'm going to start looking for spread limit games.

It's funny to read your article for...

DVault1:

First, the post is not about any collection of beats and I'm tiring of people trying to hijack the thread and take it in that direction. It's about an idea for an MTT format that attempts...

Re: 3SP: A new NLHE format that requires skill, not recklessness.

I have to run here in a few but thanks for the lively discussion! A couple of points:

All in or nothing is a good strategy for a novice but only if the ratio of novices to players is 1:4 or less....

Re: 3SP: A new NLHE format that requires skill, not recklessness.

Thanks, never heard of "PushBotting" but, if I understand the idea, it's an attempt to get all the chips in anytime you're +EV.

That's great for a cash game but when you're trying to make the...

If you hadn't noticed, the thread isn't about one, two or five beats. It's about the entire game being ruined by people who think it's all about playing 'demolition derby' with chips. I know several...

When you're trying to find something specific, you can get so buried in information that isn't quite right that you get yourself lost... and I'm there.
