Re: Playing Ax Suited at a LAG Live 3/6 Table...

The key for me in this type of game is whether or not I've been hitting some flops. Math People can say +EV and pot odds are the main (only) consideration but if I'm not hitting flops I don't get...

Re: Raising AK in small stakes, no foldem holdem games

And remember, for this to be profitable over the long run you only have to win one time in five (20%) against 5+ players. It isn't too uncommon to flip heads 4 - 8 consecutive times on a 50% coin so...

Re: PS 3/6 J9o on the BB

At these odds you gotta call and see the turn though the J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif would be trouble. I disagree with C/R because all but one player are already in for one small bet so they'll...

Re: ATs Line Check

My guess is villian is letting hero do the work while waiting to see if the flush comes. Also, lots of players limp with AK hoping to get this type of trapping opportunity. Villian is probably also...

Re: Live 3/6: AA in BB

No sense betting on the river. If he made his hand he calls or reraises and takes the pot and if he missed his hand he'll probably fold. He may be betting top pair/ decent kicker but if that's the...

Re: Would you fold QQ preflop here?

"grunch"

Depends on how you've been playing. If your play has been tight and this is the first you've raised in a while then get out. If you've been seeing lots of flops and raising most times...

Re: Staying Away from Quality players

And if there isn't another table then tighten up your starting hand selection and generally fold or raise. Good players chew up calling stations.

Re: 99 with board Overcards

"grunch"

Check the river, call villian's bet if you want. I doubt he has a 4 since he should have check-raised on the turn to avoid flush/straight suck-outs (though he may still have it). After...

Re: KTo from the Btn

[ QUOTE ]
I raise this every time.

- there are 3 opponents who have already put in one bet each. You make your flush 1/3 of the time so even though you don't have the A you probably still like...

Re: Top Two Facing Possible Flush

I wouldn't raise the turn. You raised after the possible flush showed on the flop and he reraised then still bet into you on the turn. He could have the flush, a set, or possibly A-T but villian is...

Re: Straight flush draw too aggressive?

"grunch"

I see no reason to raise on the turn. You still only have top pair/worse kicker. With one card to come you're approx. 5-1 to make the flush and you're not gonna get anywhere near the...

Re: Busted flush leaves 2-pair

"grunch"

I would have checked on the flop and called his probable bet. On the turn I would have check-raised and if he came over the top then call to a show down. If he doesn't come over the top...

Re: KQs against an unknown raiser. Preflop question

"grunch"

I cold call. While this is a strong hand it's still only King high right now. Might as well not put any more money in the pot until you see the flop.

Re: Bottom Pair, Heads Up, Donking the Turn?

There's no reason to bet on the river. If villain has any pair at this point he's probably going to call or check/raise. If he has nothing then he will fold so betting gains nothing if you're the...

Re: Easy River Lay Down

"grunch"

Not necessarily. By betting right away you're pretty much telling him you don't have the seven because you would probably slow play that, which leaves the nine or another small pocket...

Re: BB turns weak pair after flop is checked around

"grunch"

Call. Villian may just have a pair of sixes and since you checked after taking a stab, he may be trying the same. If not, this is one of those times where paying for information is...

Re: JJ played terribly. How to do better in this case?

"grunch"

Shoulda re-raised preflop. JJ plays better short-handed and you might push out UTG with two bets to call. UTG tried limping Preflop then goes crazy on that flop suggesting a set so I...

Re: The Lady\'s got a Turn decision

Call the flop raise with the intention of check-raising on the turn regardless of what hits. From the list of hands you put him on (which is being generous to the wild man) only four of eleven hands...

Re: BB KK into a 3 way flop.. grumble!

Bet the flop. Someone correct me if this is not correct but with four other callers in the pot there is a only a 50% chance that someone has an Ace. That means that half the time you have the best...

Re: Facing a reraise from a tight aggressive player

The other question is what is his read of you? If he sees you're playing a bit loose then he doesn't necessarily need a premium hand to re-raise.

Being aggressive pre-flop then passive after an...

Re: Flop bottom set - slow down?

"grunch"

I don't see anything wrong with you being aggressive throughout this hand. No one raised preflop so I doubt anyone has KK or QQ. The Jack on the turn shouldn't be a problem since it...

Re: 3-street playalong with infinity

I'd fold. The best you can be is a coin-flip and the worse you can be is dominated. The pot is small and he has position. Move on and wait for a better opportunity (unless there are bonus...

Re: Value Betting

Looking at it now it seems that Hand 2 is an obvious value bet.

Hand 1 scared me off because villian didn't seem to care what I did or what came on the board. I figured he had the Queen but when...

Value Betting

I seem to puss out on the last value bet when I have the best hand and am missing out on some valuable cash. Am I missing something on these hands that tells me I need to push one more bet or do I...
