Hm... I bet big only because I wanted the pot then, rather than building it up and being crushed by a flush or a higher pair. Is this valid strategy, or am I overly-afraid of that situation?

Stack sizes: I had $9, everyone at the table was between $5 and $10, the player I was against had ~ $9 as well. What other info would be relevant?
