i just read about SAGE for the first time and while it sounds great, i am curious if it makes sense to follow it strictly, especially if you are up against someone you feel you play better than....

Re: a tough 2 pair

i think i would have raised the flop to get a better idea of where i stand, but other than that it all looks good to me. if he has a set youre screwed but nothing you can do about that. i'd say well...

Re: opinions requested on style

well, that was a fun read. so, i'm not pro, but here goes:

i agree with your opponent- i think you played this match a bit less aggressive than you could have. it's not terribly passive, but i...

Re: NOTRN- PFR\'s for 77-99

thanks for the thoughts and i appreciate the hijack.
i'd almost never fold a pp from the button. but yesterday i played a $25 HU tounrey and i got the guy down to about 800 chips in the first 5...

Re: NOTRN- PFR\'s for 77-99

hmm. well, now that you bring it up i'm not so sure my strategy makes sense. basically i tend to limp them early on because when the blinds are small, the times i do hit a set, i should often be able...

Re: J9o call down

i'm torn on the turn call, but without specific numbers it's hard to say. but after all that action, unless it was a tiny bet, i'd definitely fold to his river bet. the only reason i could see...

NOTRN- PFR\'s for 77-99

i feel comfortable playing small or large pocket pairs in heads up tourneys, but often feel lost with the mid range, 77-99. i often limp them early on when the blinds are small and the implied odds...

Re: Best way to beat super aggressive villian?

ok, i'm no pro, but reading through your session a few things come to mind. would love to hear if people agree or disagree.

1. your bets are often too small. on the first hand you reraised him PF...

Re: (HU NL$10 cash) KK in heat, ugly turn

i'd definitely call. you only have to win a little more than one time in three to make it worthwhile. and there are plenty of hands that explain his play that you are still ahead of, like A8, AQ, KQ...

Re: NLTRN, JJ on first hand

thanks.

Re: (NL10 cash) Umm ... straight-flush?

your read sounds solid, but it's still not enough to do anything but call. if it were an open-ended draw, it might (but not actually) start to be reasonable to fold. but with just the 6S out there to...

what stats to use for NL?

(currently i'm showing VPIP, PFR and aggression,...

Re: Re-raise AK pf then miss flop

yes, but i'd c'bet a bit more. probably the pot. cuz your villian is tight (if i understood that 15 to be his VPIP) and you just want him to fold. if he's got half a brain he knows you may just be...

Re: 50NL 6Max - Flush on Paired Board

without looking at what anyone else wrote, i'd say to call. it's just too likely that he's just got a king and feels too deep in to fold on the river.
