Combo draw vs ??

Villain is 30/30/1.7 after 20 hands. Earlier, I raised him off his cbet when he was PFR holding middle pair and showed. On this hand he instapushes my flop raise. I do not think he is bluffing here,...

Re: NL25 77, What on gods earth does this guys small bet mean

Don't let it throw you, think of it as a check. Sometimes players use tiny bets to confuse weak opponents into just calling the small bet when they would have otherwise bet a normal amount.

Re: Am I a NIT if I fold this???

Against a stack this short his range is extremely wide. Any two pair, set of 8s, any draw, Kx, maybe even Qx. What's your table image? If he smells a cbet he could do this with any pair.

Re: Live 1/2 NL game with very odd participants... optimal strategy?

In addition to what others have said, patience is key. Don't feel like you're missing profit because a open push preflop turns over a hand you were dominating with a marginal holding. In a game as...

Re: The Well (LC)

What are the highest stakes you've ever played at?

Independent of bankroll, what are the highest stakes/games you think you have the ability to beat?

Re: Facing huge overbet on river/please review

I've never gotten to 4x buyin on overbet river bluffs. This is a made flush or a set almost 100%, looking for some value on the safe river.

Re: Big Pair In the Crosshairs: Am I Going to Fire This Barrel? 100 6

[ QUOTE ]
Still, I felt if there were ever a perfect river card to bluff, it would be this one.

Re: KK against B3B AI on Flop

I call this all day against a 40/20. I expect to see TT or a draw.

Re: Big Pair In the Crosshairs: Am I Going to Fire This Barrel? 100 6

Look at it from another perspective. Let's say you hold the nuts, 7h9h, and played the hand the same way, and putting it all-in on the river. Without a read that opponent plays overpairs more solidly...

Re: OESFD .. always b3bai?

Your equity really only suffers when you are overcoated, you still have something like 38% equity against top set. Against aggressives, unknowns, and OOP I bet/3betAI 100% of the time as well....

Re: Not understanding the raises??

c-bet range is usually between 1/2 pot and 3/4 pot depending on board texture and number of opponents. Something like QJ9 two tone I would not c-bet at all, a dry flop like J72r I'd cbet much more...

Re: a hand I like...and a hand I\'m embarressed about

You're right, the raising range I used was way too tight. I redid it and we have 40% equity against {QQ-JJ, AQs+, ATs, KQs, KcTc, QTs+, JTs, T9s, AQo+, ATo, KQo, KTo, QTo+, JTo, T9o}. Still ugly.

Re: a hand I like...and a hand I\'m embarressed about

For villain to call flop with a pocket pair, he would have had to call a pot-sized bet on an A-high raised flop that was seen 4 ways without closing the action. The unlikelihood of this combined with...

Re: a hand I like...and a hand I\'m embarressed about

Toros, what do you suggest as a good turn bet size? Pot is 90, hero has 96 behind. Villain doesn't have any meaningful draws on that board, if he wants to call an all-in on the turn he'll do it on...

Re: a hand I like...and a hand I\'m embarressed about

I like the turn check in hand 1 because it disguises strength of your hand. There's really no reasonable bet size for the turn other than an all-in, a 1/3 pot bet might feign weakness but letting...

Re: baby flush on the flop PP $50

I can see smoothcalling the flop to trap dead money from the 3 potential callers. Raise is most likely the best here though.

With no reads that BB is likely to call an overbet I prefer a raise to...

Re: I had a riverplan and stuck to it

Because not all villains play well and we only need to be good here 22% of the time to break even.
