Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

The only nash equilibrium I can find where SB is pushing 100% of the time is at the SC number 1.825.

The SAGE system might interest you:

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

I haven't looked at your numbers yet, because well, I wasn't arguing that NE were unimportant, but they appear to have errors.

Perhaps, I have misunderstood, but I believe you found that at a...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

I don't know why we are having so much time communicating about this, but I will try one more time. When I used to frequent sit n gos, I would often find myself during endgame in a push fold type...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

I understand what you did. The point is that the implications are not nearly as far reaching as you seem to think they are. If I have a specific hand and my stack is below the SC number, pushing is...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

You are missing the point of SC numbers. The SC number is where no matter what strategy your opponent is playing your push is better than folding. This is very different than what your saying. You...

Re: Sklansky-Chubokov rankings; adjusting for overly loose/tight playe

This is wrong. Calculate your optimum strategy with 32o, knowing BB expects you to push every hand. The correct strategy will be to fold. Just because pushing every hand is better than folding...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

It sounds like you think it means you should push 32o. But it doesn't imply that. You've shown it is better to push every hand than fold every hand. That doesn't say anything about SC numbers.

Re: Sklansky-Chubokov rankings; adjusting for overly loose/tight playe

But do you see how you aren't going to get anything like an SC number? It isn't an issue of using the smaller stack in the hand, it is an issue of picking BB's calling range. If you are playing a...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov: How much of an underestimate ?

Didn't you just show that moving all in every hand is better than folding every hand? Is that helpful?

Re: ROI% for HU

Plugging it in on sngpt, the profibility turning point is 41%. So as long as BB calls with less than 41% of hands, then pushing is better than folding. Though the is it worth it range might be...

Re: Sklansky-Chubokov rankings; adjusting for overly loose/tight playe

Gonso-

Here is what I see as the problem to your question. You are in the SB and look down to see K7o. You want to know how that plays against Joe Blow. So now we have to make assumptions about...

Re: Calculating The Optimal Range To Play HU

The SAGE system isn't very useful in this context, because it assumes the opponent is playing the equilibrium strategy. We are discussing playing against opponents making mistakes, and how best to...

Re: When calling with high +EV becomes -EV(not tourny)

I just don't understand serious players that go broke. I would just think that they would move down in blinds well before they even had the opportunity to go broke. But then again maybe you're just...

Hypothetical questions like this is why poker needs a more developed financial system. There should be hypothetical investors lined up to share this risk with you for only a small premium, or at the...

Re: avoiding high variance with limited bankroll

Yes, you should definetely pass up on this edge. It is close to neutral EV and could even be -EV if two players have already put their stacks in. Even more, you obviously like playing poker more...

Re: Calculating The Optimal Range To Play HU

I'm a little confused about the results. When you say it just cuts off the bottom of your range at 75% pushing? Is that with 1000BB stacks or 10BB stacks? It certainly seems correct with 10BB...

I'm not sure what exactly you're saying, but something can have diminishing marginal utility and always have a positive utility gain. Money is a good example. The next dollar may always be worth a...

Re: Sklansky-Chubukov Numbers

I also think they are quite useful. They show when folding in the sb can't be correct. Online we all probably often see short stacks fold in tournament situations, where they should be pushing huge...

I have never actually suggested waiting for a great hand. I think that is obviously a mistake. I have been trying to talk about the marginal hand. The last hand that you call with, because it is...

Re: Calculating The Optimal Range To Play HU

Basically I'm asserting we don't really care about chips per hand. The optimal range is the one that gets us all the money the most often. If he is pushing only AA and KK, calling with AA is going...

Re: Calculating The Optimal Range To Play HU

If I changed your stack sizes to 10,000 BB, isn't your formula going to give me all the hands that are +cEV against villain's range. That would be fine if I could keep playing and playing, but if...
