Re: Can a bot settle the luck/skill argument?

For bad players, poker is LUCK. They are gambling.

For good players, poker is skill. Predatory in nature and based on one's knowledge of stats and human behavior.

Evangalists most likely...

Re: Short Stack Crap

Stop your whining and play other sites. Stars and Tribeca are two networks that dont allow rebuys for less. And grandgnu got it right: adjust. If you can't adjust your just another fish. Oh and...

Re: 85s Blind Defense

If the player is slow playing, wouldnt he wait until the turn to check raise. That being the case wouldn't a bet be better. You may take down the pot (unlikely) or get a free card (more likely). ...

Re: AKo... way ahead/way behind???

Bet and go into call down mode if raised by agressive player; i think you can fold to passive player raise.

Re: Sanity Check

I know this might be laggy, but why not raise. Agressive players will often bet in the hopes someone will fold. Raising makes it really difficult for the third player to call. If you are reraised,...

Re: A8 not that boring (but not as fun as a8s because it\'s not suited)

Raise the flop or turn. The calling station approach here is only good when you have paired the board, and I wouldn't become a calling station until the turn and only if the player is agressive. ...

Re: Online 3/6 -- fold the turn here?

K, what is laggy in Short? VPIP 50+. Is top pair/med kicker against a lag a marginal hand in short; if so i agree fold. If the hand is strong, then we have to raise to defend against semi-bluff,...

Re: Online 3/6 -- fold the turn here?

The opponent is laggy and could be semi-bluffing or trying to bet you off the pot with a scare card.

How can folding be right?

Re: Folding 101

I feel your pain Bob. I have been a successful low limit player for the the last 15 months. 2-3BB/100 at 1/2 through 5/10. Full ring is beatable for me, because I can avoid marginal deciscions and...

Re: Is it +EV to call down with pair against mainiacs heads up?

In this case, the maniac had T2suited. I bet/called the flop. Turn 2. I bet/call. River 2. I check/called. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Is it +EV to call down a pair against mainiacs heads up?

Regarding a bet on the flop:

So most maniacs bet any A preflop, so lets assume he doesn't have an A. He could have a weak K, but that is a small range to take away a value bet on the flop.

Is it +EV to call down with pair against mainiacs heads up?

Lets call a maniac anyone playing 80% of their hands and raising 2/3 of their hands on full ring table.

Here is an example. You have 99 in middle postion on a loose full ring table and maniac is...

Re: Calldown situation or fold

You need to raise the flop and turn. Punish draws, overpairs (not likely due to preflop play), top pairs, and weaker two pairs. If both players don't go away, call the river. If the flop is...

Re: What\'s your poker history? How much have you made? Your poker future?

If you are making 2BB/100 at 5/10 Limit on all the existing popular networks over 100,000 hands, I would consider grinding it out for a living.

Until that point, please stay in school and get a...

Re: 2/4, standard call down or hit the muck?

First, dont listen to anyone who recommends doing something always in poker.

Preflop depends on site and table. If the table is loose, generally raise; if the table is tight generally limp. If...
