I dont think this game is beatable in the long run. If anything, the odds may only tilt ever so slightly toward you as any strategy has a counter strategy. But I suppose it's just like Poker, some do...

10% is indeed generous. My company only matches 50% up to 6%. That's a bit lousy, but I learned that it was still better than many other companies.

Have you asked if your company offers Roth 401k?...
