Re: 1st Monster $1M Monthly

[ QUOTE ]
Best way to qualify for the weeklies is the sng route for sure. I was 2 for 3 in the $11's.

Re: 1st Monster $1M Monthly

So how long will this thing take? Less than 1500 eliminated during the first hour. Three more hours until the bubble breaks? Or more?

Re: A million-to-one shot?

In real life, and assuming reasonably deep stacks, this should almost never happen, as the guy with JJ will surely fold against *three* other agressive bettors.

The one exception is of course if...

Re: Next Step after capped PL/NL game?

I think your idea can be further improved by allowing bets on later streets to be double those of initial streets. I'd pay money to play such a game!

Party Beta 5-table tournament

I just noticed that Party has $5+1 5-table SnG's, but also $5+1 Beta 5-table tournaments. What's up with that? What is "beta" about them and how do they differ from the regular ones?

Re: Monster Projections

I'd have to take the under on $100M. This is mailny funded by Monster Bad Beat tables, and I fail to see why people who want to play in the monster final will start playing those games.

According...

Re: Odds vs Chances/Probability

The same goes for Sweden. I still struggle with the odds thing. Chances are always a percentage, and betting is always in terms of return, i.e. a single number stating how many times your bet you...

Re: EV of Party Monster tournaments

OK, let's do the math properly instead of not at all and see what comes up.

The monster jackpot has increased roughly $1M/week, and Party added $5M to start. Let's assume that it will be a $40M...

How many dice rolls until 7 is most common result w/90% probability?

I roll two dice, add the eyes and note the result. After how many rolls will the probability that 7 will be the most common result be 90%? 95%? x%?

Re: Is this correct ?

And, also, because if the situation is such that the flush, should it come, is the nuts, you generally have other outs as well, for instance a runner-runner set.

Re: KQ how often % you flop top pair with no over pair?

No probabilities can't be added/subtracted like that.

First you have to calculate the probability that one or more aces will fall on the flop. Let's assume that is 20%, as you say.

Then you...

Re: How much difference does it make?

OP is 99.5% wrong. Why that is so is perfectly explained above. What makes him 0.5% right is that live, there is always a slight chance that the deck isn't perfectly shuffled. If the deck has just...

Re: Party Poker Monster Thread

I play the $10+1. That seems to be slightly better since they pay money to the first three players, even though it's only $25/$15/$10.

This has the strange effect that even though 75% of the value...
