Why isn\'t it considered good to play loose in the early stages...

If everyone is playing tight, isn't this the right time to play loose and gather chips for the long run, and tighten up as you go? I understand the blinds get bigger, but if you have enough chips...

Re: 2-4 Razz - General thoughts on this hand

I like a check on 4th here usually unless you have a good read or think he is lag. The rest seems standard. He probably sucked out a 7 on the river, oh wait you can highlight result...yep he sucked...

Re: KK[2] in the bring in at low stakes (illustrates Kammens example)

[ QUOTE ]
You put him on a flush draw? What, like clubs? How did he get to 6th st, then? Why did he bet 4th? What does he like about that J?

What do you think HE thinks you have?

river bet in hand 1 is terrible

[/ QUOTE ]

Not if he backed into Ts from a flush draw and is still looking for that draw, which is what I put him on.

Re: Buried aces, \"somewhat\" scary board

He is doing that here with anything in the hole. He is correct in double betting hoping to scare off the other paired door cards. I can't put him on trips as he only limped 3rd. At best he is holding...

"Wrong - The main objective is drag the SOBs the the river and make them payoff on streets 4 thru 7. And wait for them to say "Gee I never know what you're doing, you're the best".

Re: KK[2] in the bring in at low stakes (illustrates Kammens example)

This hand could have gone either way. I like a limp reraise hoping someone is going to complete, and I can see bringing in for a full bet because an ace is dead.

7 Card Stud High ($0.05/$0.10),...

"He(Zee)was right about bringing in"

So yesterday you changed your mind about completing the BI, but it appears today you switched back. WTF

KK[2] in the bring in at low stakes (illustrates my example)

Sometimes at low stakes it is good to bring in with a full bet

The dead Ace is all the more reason to raise. I'd be happy buying the antes on third.

What\'s your range in a short game of Stud Hi (3-4 people)

What should be the range?
When I sit down at a short handed table 2-4 people I tend to start playing hands as long as I have two cards higher than everyone else's door cards if there is no raise....

I'm talking a scenario where you started with Jacks, the other guy started with a three-flush, and he is now showing open Queens. You're not in great shape in this scenario, either.

Re: Low limit stud says it\'s correct to complete the bring in....

I can see why you would fold on 4th if they have open queens. He is not saying go ahead and call with only a better kicker, most of the time you want to call if you have a drawing hand as well, IE....

Re: Low limit stud says it\'s correct to complete the bring in....

It is way different because like Ray Zee said, If you have a strong hand and complete in the bring in, people can tell. You have the choice of only bringing in for a little and if you choose to bring...

Re: Split aces (blah)

Yes with a solid two pair you want to drive people out in stud. You don't want the 4s to see anything cheaply so a raise is the right move there. You don't want him catching trips or filling his boat.

Split aces (blah)

My reason for being so aggressive is getting that stupid drawing hand out.

There is no point in playing the hand when you are at best a small dog on 3rd and the same on 4th. I don't play these stakes, but I would autofold both streets.
