Re: 33 and a draw vs. overpair (I think)

Assuming anyone has stats on you is stupid, much less someone running 31/16/1. He's probably playing nothing other than his cards.

Both of your raises were spew imo. I would have just called the...

Re: nl10: two pair facing big river bet

Fold preflop. SCs aren't very good hands that far OOP. Certainly don't open limp with them.

Fold flop. All you have is middle pair no kicker with a backdoor straight draw; there's no reason to...

Re: NL 25- Overpair rasied in Multiway pot

[ QUOTE ]
I think his range is probably pretty narrow, I'd say AQ at the very least and more likely a set or OESD. 66 comes to mind.

Raising here will just fold out the part we beat so I would...

Re: Marginal spot. River call or fold?? 20NL

I like the flop bet too. This is an incredibly dry board, so there's no reason to bet a lot. Sure, you're betting for value in this particular spot, but a lot of your range here is bluffs and you...

Re: NL25SH Rivered Set faces donk, shove it or just call?

Make a smallish raise to like $11-12 or so. This guy probably doesn't have better than Kx most of the time, but your line looks weak as well and based on his stats he could easily be a station, so...

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

That second call is pretty impressive imo. Mind sharing your thought process on that hand?

Re: 50NL - Overpair on a scary river

He's getting over 3:1, and just as you shouldn't expect his range has many 8s or 3s in it, he shouldn't think yours does either. Plus, people generally call down lighter in BVB. I admit that this is...

Re: 50NL - QQ (overpair) facing c/r on flop

What do you put him on that beats you? Quads? 77? You have 66% equity against {77, 99-QQ, AhQh, AhKh} and if you add in KK-AA you still have about 44% equity, which is enough to shove here. Push all...

Re: NL25 - Top pair against super lag fish

Hand one is an easy fold against an unknown, but against this particular guy I might shove because he's probably on a draw a lot.

Hand two call his raise, c/c down. This is a WA/WB situation but...

Re: 50NL i think this is standard

Raising this preflop is super standard for me.

This is the drawiest possible flop imaginable, so if you're going to bet, there's no reason to bet less than full pot imo. Then your turn bet is huge...

Re: 50nl 6max: 22 vs ??? Can i make him fold?

I assume 18 pfa is postflop aggression, meaning this guy is an aggromonkey spewtard idiot.

Re: 50NL - Overpair on a scary river

I value shove this. That river isn't really that scary, because there's not really many hands that he should be calling preflop/flop/turn with that contain an 8 or a 3, and the flush was backdoor so...

Re: Have a set. Spew?

[ QUOTE ]
I'd much rather make a bluff out of a hand that I was mucking unless I play it like this than a hand that has very good implied odds etc etc vs his opening range.

Re: Help me play these tought spots 1 time.

Really quick analysis because I have to leave nowish, but here goes:

Hand #1 probably fold as played, but if he's really that aggro c/c flop and turn.

Hand #2 please raise the flop. It's really...

Re: I\'m Gonna Bluff ~ Maybe? NL10

There are many situations in which it is correct to raise Q8o on the button. However, due to the calling station in the BB, this is not one of them. While the "fold preflop" crowd is correct in this...

Re: 25NL - how should I have played JJ?

I hate that donkbet too. It's turning your hand into a bluff, and it isn't even a very good bluff because aggressive villains can raise you with air here.

And I 3-bet preflop, but I agree you...

Re: Have a set. Spew?

We have a made hand with SD value. Why do we want to turn that hand into a bluff preflop?

Because showdown is far, far away and you'll have to navigate 3 streets OOP to...

Re: Have a set. Spew?

I don't think 3-betting preflop is "*horrible*" here. Villain is a button raiser so he could easily be stealing and and will fold a lot of his range, and if he calls he can still fold to flop c-bets...

Re: Two KK hands- check back or keep betting?

In the first hand I 5bet shove preflop. As played, flop is obviously super standard.

Hand 2 I think your bet sizing on both streets was a little too big (I'd prefer like $4 and $11 on the flop and...

Yeah, as much as I love floating OTB, K9s is a pretty [censored] hand. That's what a -35BB/100 session will do.

Re: NL50: VBet River with TPWK

Fold preflop please. I think you played postflop pretty well. I probably check behind on the turn with the intention of calling a river bet or betting if checked to me again, but your line isn't bad...

Re: can I fold here with AA on the flop?

The real question is if he plays KQ this way. If he does, you have enough equity to call. If not, this is a fold.

Re: AK pf shoving 5NL

Your 3-bet was way too small. Make a real 3-bet and then call his shove because you're priced in at that point.

Re: 25NL Flush on Turn how to proceed?

I'm 4betting him here preflop. I don't mind a flat call in position, but OOP without initiative you're just gonna be check/folding most flops, and much of the time you'll be folding the best hand....
