Supersystem I was really pretty good considering what was out there when it came out. Supersystem II has some excellent chapters, so I wouldn't put it on this list.

This is a true story.
The online rake for heads up play is unbelievable. I tried playing $5/$10 heads up, and my opponent and I both made default buyins of $100. I got stuck, rebought twice, played on for about an hour...

For no limit holdem the Harrington books reign supreme. They really are excellent, and that's saying a lot in view of the huge number of terrible poker books out there.

FWIW, I thought No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice was the worst poker book I had ever read.
But then I came across Professional No Limit Holdem, Volume One.

I have played there. They had what amounts to a $5/10 No Limit Holdem game the day I played.
By law, no Koreans are allowed to play in the game. 80% of the players were Korean North Americans....
