Re: 44 Set in the SB
At Bay 101, the caps comes off in any betting round, once only 2 players in it. Don't need to start a round heads up.

Re: Nit Procedure Question
At Bay 101, if you move away from the Blind, you either wait x hands, where x is the number of players you jumped, OR you can optionally post. No penalty for moving toward the blind.

Re: Ruling needed, I feel dirty (Winstar obv)
I don't know about elsewhere, but most place I play in N. California,
require you to show your cards to claim any part of the pot when there is at least one caller. Claiming that you play the board...

Re: Oaks Card Club Emeryville Ca
Their 15-30 game is their highest limit. So it attracts their "high rollers". I often saw people sit down with 3-4K$ which is a bit much for that game normally. From what I could see, it tends to...

Re: Get used to it
I agree it is unfair, but every casino I have ever played at that doesn't have electronic boards has this going on. I don't think it is going to change, even though most of these same casinos have...

Re: Reno trip in December. Where to play?
There are no big rooms. If you are look for limit HE, then about the best you can do is 4-8 with a kill at most casinos. Peppermill has 10-20 during peak times. Everyone offers NL, albeit mostly...

Re: Bay 101 Propping?
I have talked to the prop's at Bay101 several times. Here is what I understand. They get mimimum wage and medical benefits. They use only their own money. They have to be willing to play all...

Re: Bay Area Omaha hi/lo games?
Bay 101 plays a 4/8 half kill Omaho hi/lo. I have played it numerous times and it is very variable. There are a bunch of regulars. If they are all there, it is NOT a soft game.

Re: Dealing as a part-time job in retirement?
It can be pretty decent pay as well. At Bay101, the dealers make minimum wage, get health benefits and a good dealer takes down about $300/day in tips, only part of which is declared to the IRS

Re: Showing One Card (after everyone has folded)
At Bay 101, if you show one, u don't have to show the other even if requested if you are NOT called.
I know I will probably be lambasted for saying this, but I personally think showing one card is...

TAG vs LAG play
I play mostly 8-16 or 10-20. I had a 3 month stretch play SSHE type TAG play where I won everytime at a rate of 1.5 to 2 BB/hour. I am not telling you this to brag, but rather to set the stage for...

OF course they cash checks
All the major casinos in Vegas will cash personal checks. They use one of the check services to do so. Last time I was there, I cashed a check for $1000 at Rio. Next day went to Bellagio, and cash...

Re: prop players in vegas
Shill plays with Casino money. Prop plays with their own money. At Bay101 they use Prop players to get a table started or to keep them going. I asked one of the prop players why she didn't just...

Re: Weird hand at 20-40 @ Bay 101
Garland,
I take your point. Standard SSHE says you need AJS to make this call. I wouldn't have called A-10o; however I felt A-10s was close and because the table was so passive, I have been...

Weird hand at 20-40 @ Bay 101
Table is full of tight fairly passive players. Player in EP+1 is the only exception and I would describe him as somewhat loose and agressive.
I am particularly looking for comments pre-flop. Post...

20-40 Bay 101
I moved up from the 8-16 table. I expected to find a bunch of LAGs, but instead I found a bunch of TAPs. Really surprised the hell out of me. Most raises in EP caused everyone to fold out. So I...
