First of all I would bet the pot on the second and third betting round to protect my hand.
On the river I would fold. On the flop villain had probably some kind of draw or a weak high together...

If you are convinced that your opponents play straightforward and anounce the strength of their hands immediately I agree that a bet will be the best play.
But trickier opponents should just call...

Folding to the preflop raise is ok. You will not hit the flop often enough to make a call +ev postflop.
As played the pot is to big on the flop that you can fold. Push and hope for the best.

The problem with how you played the hand is that you generate almost no fold equity. CO will almost never fold to a check-raise on the turn because at this point he had invested to much of his stack....

Hand 1) I just call with high only hands. You want to trap low draws on the flop/turn if you have hit a decent high hand. But because you will miss the flop very often it is better to see the flop...
