Re: ***yankees official offseason thread*****
Funny, looking at those projections, the Yankees have 6 players who project to hit better then the avg. 1b/dh. The Twins have 2. The Yankees have 11 better then the avg. CF. The Twins have 4.

Re: ***yankees official offseason thread*****
Here is how all 3 compare to the other starters in the Twins system right now:
Zips projections for next year:
Name/age/era:
Santana/29/3.21
Liriano/24/3.42 (obv. very risky)
Hughes/23/3.70...

Ok, you're right, he isn't actually overpaid. After putting together back to back seasons of below average (for CF) hitting I don't know that he is violently underpaid either. I think his stat-line...

I still think Kennedy + Melky + someone not named Hughes, Cano or Chamberlain is enough and will likely go...

Re: ***Official 2007-2008 MLB Offseason Thread***
Meh, I was just being a nit. WAR are actually worth (on average) something like $2.5m I think. I would consider someone in the range of 2-3WAR (total) to be considered average. That means the fair...

I think I'm higher on Garza and lower on Young then you. Maybe I'm weighting their performance this past year a little too much or something... Young has a long way to go (both at the plate and in...

Re: ***Official 2007-2008 MLB Offseason Thread***

See my post above. Joe Kennedy isn't exactly a household name. At least among houses with football fans in them, Sean Taylor is. Also, murdered in his home vs. died of natural causes makes the...
