Re: Fun at Seneca Allegany

They told me that they used to run O 8/b on Wednesdays, and might have a game going sometimes on Friday nights... It was on the sign up as no limit high only, and I don't have that much gamble in...

Re: Fun at Seneca Allegany

Yes we were. Lots of people wanting to play our table tho. Were you one of the 7 Brians who signed up to play 2/4?

Fun at Seneca Allegany

Played at a very silly table last weekend. I suck, and know it, so I was playing 2/4 limit.

Anyway, I discovered that a few things are fun to do:

1. Get people at the table to randomly yell...

Re: O8 learning process..

In PLO8, you can freeroll, which gives you an infinite edge. In PLO, on flop, there is ALWAYS possibility of a runner-runner straight flush coming (extreme examples, but make the point).

Re: O8 learning process..

High is a completely different game. I can't handle the variance in it, since I am not so good at pushing small edges. The edges in 8/b can be huge postflop.

Where now?!?!?

OK, so USA player here. Pacific Poker is gonna be shutting me out, and Party isn't gonna be an option either. What sites are going to ignore that I am from the USA (for now, at least) AND spread O...

Re: O8 learning process..

I think that with just a basic knowledge of limit poker and the chapter on O 8/b in Super System 2, you can get by.

I think that other reading, especially Cappeletti's books and articles, can...

Re: Beginner leaks

Thanks! It does seem that table selection is even more important in this game than Omaha. Although on Pacific there doesn't seem to be a bad table ever on any limit.

Beginner leaks

Hey guys. New to stud 8/b. Competent (opinions vary) at omaha 8/b. What do you think the biggest leaks are for a newb at the game (who already understands the 8/b part)?

So far, the ones I am...

Re: PLO8 Tournaments!

Online, no. Live, you probably want to tip at least a chip or two when you win a pot.

Re: Flush on a Doubled Paired Board

First, your cards: You flop a set and a flush draw, which means bet the flop. It is less likely than normal for someone to have flopped a boat or trips if you hold trips yourself. If one of your...

Do any of you long time players NOT use PokerTracker? Do you use it mostly to track how you are playing, or for tracking the competition?

Thanks!

Where to play live?

Are there any casinos in New York that spread Omaha 8/b? What limits? Are they loosey-goosey as PacificPoker?
