That's what I thought, but was worried my inner nit was getting the better of me. In the actually hand I folded QQ.

Bizarre overbet from new player
$1/2 on Stars. This is Button's 3rd hand at the table. No reads at all, but he folded his BB and SB. Effective stacks $197.
Folds to Button who bets $70. I'm in the SB -- what's a good jamming...

I'm not worried about a bluff c/r I just think we can get more value.
As for betting the turn.. we have a draw but it's not to the nuts. I'd rather bet now and find out if I'm against...

What are we looking to get value from by betting the river in hand 1? Not saying it's wrong just asking /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Simple QQ line check

Honestly, I hate the turn call. If you're going to fold the river, just fold the turn. He will fire the river whether he was trying to buy the pot or not on the turn.
Other than that, I...

Re: flop set on pretty board, get stacked
I can understand c/c-ing the flop because it's such a dry board. However, you flopped a set and you want to get your stack in. You'll typically have better results if you
(1) don't slowplay...

Simple QQ line check
I'm working with a new database, but I have a cryptic note that Villain is aggressive, possibly a tad spewy. However, the last time we played together was over 6 months ago and we have no...

1/2: 2 hands vs. a donkey
Villain in both hands is running 58/13/2.5 over 120 hands, with a WTSD of 26% and a W$@SD of 24%.
Hand 1: I'm trying to learn to bet/fold the river. Standard?

Re: Running It Twice (or More)
One thing I've actually wondered about this, though. When you run it twice, you remove cards from the deck so the two runs aren't really identical. The side that lost the first run should typically...

Seems like a trivially easy bet to me. Large pot, decent hand, live game where people often bet out the river when they make obvious hands because they themselves are terrified of getting...

15/30 river decision with AA

Re: 10/20: What can he have? What can I beat?

I think you should have stopped the action at the flop and asked for a discussion of flop turn lines. I think a checkraise on the flop is better, I think the river action is very good, but...

Re: Turned nuts - C/C on river best option?
I really don't think it's too bad to call preflop getting 7 to 1, as long as you recognize that you'll probably need to make a big hand or strong draw to put any more money in postflop.

Re: A few hands from a live 10/20 game

on hand 1, try saving your aggression until the turn. you have less equity on the flop (i'm assuming he has an ace) than you do on the turn, and the bets are bigger on that street.

Re: A few hands from a live 10/20 game
With regards to hand 2, I figured that he would be raising for a free card at least one time in 8, in which case I would likely still be ahead and he'd check the turn, which is why I called. I...
