Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
@juk:
The problem with your approach is imo, that pusher & caller are treated differently. The caller is basically playing some non-zero-sum version of minimax, while the pusher sticks to maximally...

Re: Long Shot Poker
Going for Boat/Quads while blocking his Straightflush-Outs should work too?
Assuming no misses:
H: Ts Y: 9h
H: Js Y: 9s
H: Qs Y: 9d
H: Ks Y: As
Now it gets tricky. We have 3 Shots...

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
I guess the challenge here is:
Can we model the "strategy-negotiation process" in a way, such that the Caller eventually "realizes" that its profitable for him to stay at a wider call range, given...

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
@trojanrabbit
After the push is made, there is no value in calling looser (if we assume that looser calling will not effect the pushers future range) - right.
I understand the problem you...

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
Here s the code. Possibly quite buggy, was coding this while trying to construct a toy game. (You need R to run this: www.r-project.org/ ) (http://www.r-project.org/))

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
@Paxinor
Well, the Caller can not only punish the loose pusher. If we assume a non-robotic Pusher, who will adjust to the loose calling, the Callers EQ will in fact significantly increase.
In...

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games
Ok, here is a toy game featuring a "spite-calling" situation:
Basic game is the same as in Math of Poker, pg 127.
*) Every player is dealt a hand in [0...1].
*) SB ("Pusher") can push or fold...

Kind of forgot about this thread, sorry /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Fictitious play for multi-player games

This seems to fly in the face of what I know about NE states though, as it shouldn't be possible for a player to deviate profitably from a NE (assuming the above algorithm really does...

Re: Nash Equilibrium charts
Basically, the calling ranges can be used no matter what the pushing ranges are. The "chart-callers" EV will be minimized if the pusher is shoving w/ the upper chart. So, if the pusher deviates from...

Interesting idea, and would not be much of a change to the implementation. I'll look into this once i have some extra spare time /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Tough fishy cause he\'s so fishy
Hand 1: I probably play check turn and call a small bet - fold if he bets big & has reasonably low turn AF. River check/call. But im probably missing a lot value against this type of players.

Your not getting responses because the answer is obvious.
If you are, as you say, the best player on the table, it's probably good for you to be as deep as possible. You will not be able to rebuy...

Re: Nash Equilibrium charts
@ger664:
These charts have nothing to do w/ ICM. In fact, they only apply when cEV=$EV. (As it is the case headsup, but *not* in >2-handed SB-vs-BB situations).
But what you meant is, i guess:...

Re: AQ hand SNGPT is telling me to fold.
The CO should be on ATC, and definitely much looser than OP's estimates. This is a pretty easy call if we can assume the CO is at least halfway decent.
ICM tools will show this as push when you...
