Re: New Tysen Streib Book: Kill Everyone
Great book, an awful lot to integrate in your play, even for almost all regulars I guess.
1 question Tysen: when referring to your database of low-level players and their average calling %, ......

Re: Chess Rating question, what does it mean?
Some online ratings are much higher than fide. ICC is such an example. But any site could employ an underrated system as well.
The way new players get their rating and how you win/lose points vs...

Re: poker vs chess wich is easier??
Chess: It takes years to become good. It's a whole process of maturation.
Poker: In a few months any student can get good. Just learn the math and then some.
I define good as never making a worse...

Re: Poker V Chess
Has this anything to do with poker? Then please mention so as well. Apart from the title there's nothing on poker in it.
What are you trying to say? That stamina is very important in chess? It...

-EV but not terrible. Probably call with T8s.

I don't get it; your odds aren't good, your cards aren't good and SB didn't have to get involved.
You're probably up vs 3...

Re: ($12) Shortstacked with KJo vs. limpers
I'd push expecting 1 call, giving you 1.5-to-1 odds. (He simply has to call btw.) That's good enoug for me (vs AQ for example).
You have to double up soon anyway, so this is a great shot: decent...

Re: $22s- AK misses, CRAIed on flop
Either you move all-in on the flop or bet 400 intending to fold to a raise. So your decision should have been made earlier. Both plays seem reasonable to me.

Re: $16 PS Awkward spot or no-brainer?
Seems like most assume he'll always call preflop. I expect him to fold a lot of hands that would be a favorite after an A- or K-high flop. That's why I raise.

Re: 27: Tough bubble spot AQs with shorty in SB
Suppose you fold and SB doubles (50% chance). Then you're BB and really in trouble.
But when you push and get called with an A or KT for example you're still fine.
Add the fact that BB migt fold...

Re: ($24) standard reshove with 99?
That's an easy fold in my book.
You're only ahead vs few hands he'd shove for 8BB and 3 players left to act behind you. Even racing vs Q9o seems -$EV; let alone wit 3 players left to act. And he...

Re: $16-KQs-real short
Odds are to great to let go and being desperate doesn't hurt either. The chance he has a monster is way too low to matter in this decision, unless you have an extrememly solid read.

Re: PS 6.50\'s KK Early Line Check - First Post
It's better to have no callers or just 1 who got bad odds than this many when giving them great odds. When you see how many call it's obvious you could have bet a lot more and get callers. It's not...

Re: $16:Troubles with TT
Same here: JJ is an easy push, TT is an annoying fold.
I certainly can't imagine pushing 99 here. So when not pushing 99 is clearer than pushing JJ I opt for not pushing TT.
I often use this...

Re: $5.50 - AJs on bubble against all-in re-raise
I'd raise 400 preflop and fold to the push.
AJs is too good to fold, but you certainly don't want this confrontation. 400 doesn't make it an auto-call for the BB and let's you get away easily....
