Re: Buying vs. Renting in NYC

how much am I willing to spend on rent? certainly less is better, but $2,500 does not sound...

Re: Buying vs. Renting in NYC
I was mostly thinking about Brooklyn or Hoboken myself, but I was interested to hear what everyone had to say.
It's interesting that everyone thinks buying is substantially more than renting - it...

Buying vs. Renting in NYC
I am moving from Vancouver to NYC this fall to start work. I had originally planned on renting an apartment in Manhattan since, or so I have been told, this is the best way to experience the city.

Re: Official Party Regulars Thread
FWIW: I have noticed Chimp_that DP'ing in the past and have reported him and got the same message. It seems that his DP'ing is somewhat chronic, although Party seems content to take away his DP...

1/2 76o Live
Live game at a cardclub. Game is very loose and passive preflop, with 5+-way limped family pots not uncommon. Generally the players are very passive postflop too; there's not much raising but...

Re: Wild Raiser (STRATEGY)
this isn't profound, but against maniacs I like to:
widen my PF re-raising range
bluff less
and call more.

Re: QQ f\'ing sucks
I would definitely CB here - you re-raised PF, why can't you have AK or AQ here?
Re-raising (more so in position, however), and then betting A high flops is a profitable play, in my experience.

Re: strange TT line from the sb...
I don't really like it - what are you representing?
if you had a real monster, you would have no doubt popped it the first time around.
This looks too much like AK or a mid PP. You're out of...

Re: TP2K NL100 I\'m Lost
read and image dependent.
would the villain do this with a missed flush draw, JT or JQ?
has the hero been generally aggro?
if yes, then call.

Re: Vs. the maniac
what I do against a maniac:
OOP I tighten up and am looking for very good hole cards.
In position, I play more hands and I like to call more with weaker holdings than I would against nits (i.e....

Re: Straight draw and trips
$35-full pot on the turn.
This is one of the best cards in the deck for you and your hand is well disguised. I assume your image is fairly LAGgy, so you have a good chance of getting called, so...

Re: underfull on the turn - turn play?
I think there are two ways to play this turn if you are trying to get your stack in regardless of what happens:
1) re-raise the turn big enough that you price the SB in to call on the river. If...

Re: 25NL: Lots of outs
an eight or a jack completes his straight... looks double gutted to me.
If the villain only has a T and your K is good, you have 18 outs. Even with only 15 outs, you have to call the turn. You're...
