Vista fix:

Use Ahk2Exe (converts .ahk scripts to .exe files) -- Google to find it.

Once script is converted to an .exe file, right-click on the file, click Properties, go to Compatibility tab...

Thanks for the quick reply, but this script also didn't work for me.

Running on Windows Vista 32-bit and no AHK scripts seem to work, despite my meticulous following of directions (I think).
