Re: 12$ 180 plr turbo
They're soft as hell, so they'll certainly be profitable over time. But you have to play short-stacked well to have any significant edge.
Variance is huge, as you can imagine.

Re: Was this the right play?
The right play would be to spend more time here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=beats) .
Seriously, let's keep this strategy and not ordinary beats, mkay?

Re: AQs late in FTP $10/45
Just shove. You're crushing their limping ranges and the effective stacks are only as big as CO's stack (10 BBs), so pushing here isn't an overbet at all since you'd have odds to be calling any push...

Re: whats your play ???
Yes, this is completely read dependent and it depends just as much on BB's read on you (as Raven said) as on your read on him (as Kenny said).
If I'm the BB there with his stack, I'd be itching to...

Re: $1 stars MTT - SB w/ JTs - 21 left
[ QUOTE ]
You're too short to be limping in the SB with JTs. Shove or fold preflop. Shove is not bad as your stack is big enough to have FE against BB and the weak limper. If one folds to the shove...

Re: ATo in BB with BTN limp and SB complete
Barry - you contradict yourself here. First you explain (correctly) that we're dealing with effective stack sizes here, not your stack. Then you say that if your stack size was closer to 250k, you'd...

Re: Help a tournament newbie out...
Haven't read other replies yet, so forgive me if I'm repeating stuff.
1. 99 UTG can be a raise or a limp depending on table conditions and your stack. With your stack (26 BBs) I could honestly go...

How much better a spot do you want? I might have raised a bit less UTG but mostly I play this the same.

Re: 68s ....ok to call here?
You're too short to call, but I love a push there if the limper has been anything but rock-tight and/or has laid down limps to raises in the recent past (and even more so if you have a reasonably...

Re: AJ - reraise preflop and whiff flop

Would it be wrong to put him on 33-77?

Yes, because that's totally arbitrary and wishful thinking. At this point in the action he could just as easily have 88 as 55. Or...

Not that it matters, but why was BB calling you an idiot? I agree that you could/should have gotten more value here, but there was certainly nothing majorly wrong with how you played it (except the...

Re: KTs Bet sizing
yes... bet more on all streets. Never minraise pf from the SB. You're giving the BB irresistible odds to call (3:1) and you'll be OOP post-flop.
