Re: Live 2/5 mystery hand

jazz,

I love this kind of a post.

From what I've been reading in PNLE, with stacks this deep hero's going to have a hard time getting a good stack-to-pot ratio with any strong preflop hand. I...

Re: Wow, dealer looks at my mucked hand. Thoughts?

dealers have done this to me as well at Winstar. Hate it, but I don't want to make a fuss either.

Re: [100nl] Deepstacked with underboat, stack off?

[edited so i can learn to read]

of course the flop check is an accident, but to keep my thought intact a lot your action is going to come from Qx, Kx and JT here, as 22-JJ, 5x and air aren't going...

Re: Can we just get preflop out of the way? part I

I like your thoughts 1 on 2.

with regards to 3, you're probably in the exploitably predictable range, though the degree to which you actually end up getting exploited may be debatable.

Re: Overbetting: When to use it?

I also tend to overbet the flop when playing vs short stacks.

Initially its for value, but once i get a read on how capable they are of folding it can be in bluff spots as well.

Re: Overbetting: When to use it?

berge,

the natural bluff overbet would be the third barrel on the river. we'll often see "call down to reasonable bet sizes" advice here, and it likely mirrors a lot of common nl thinking with...

Re: Live 2/5 hand: J2o in the BB

in a limped pot with this many draws vs unknowns I'll tend to fire out a 2/3 bet and hope to get peeled by T8, T9, 89, 78, 67, 56, or 45 (or any other middling pp that has some gutshot to go with...

Re: the pure bluff thread

this is interesting. I find bluffing to be remarkably profitable - even at the micro level. It really is all about finding the right spots though. Bad bluffers bluff without a story or bluff when...

the pure bluff thread

I'd like to start a thread that highlights the types of bluffs that are possible and typical in a NL game so that we limit lifers can take a gander.

couple of ground rules:
-no semibluffs
-no...

Re: This forum really needs to go into the NL Forum

i agree that this forum should probably move. with that said, this is my nl forum of choice because I can't stand uNL.

Re: did i play this poorly?

the reason you played this fine is because any of the other randoms in the hand may decide to get fancy with a pr or overpr looking to protect vs the draw, or with a draw looking to get it in with...

k, I've got a couple of hours here and I need to be a little motivated to play.

Back in limit land we did a fun little thing called the 15bb challenge in which we'd play a limit at smaller than...

al capone,

I'm typically a big fan of your rants.

This one sucked, however. It was a little bigoted but above all it was a rant on English fluency that was filled with grammatical errors. ...

Re: went to showdown and variance

a few things:

1)you probably shouldn't refer to it as "unlimited" holdem. The term uNL in the micro nl forum refers to the greek symbol "u" which means "micro". Its a semi-common misconception...

Re: 50-200 NL 98s on the button vs. deep stacks.

I think the answer depends on how your hand is going to play postflop vs these players.

If utg will always fire another bullet and then decide what to do afterwards then you've probably got a...
