Re: another tipping question (sorry)
[ QUOTE ]
I guess. The rationale for tipping dealers is not EV maximization, so I don't think "It's -EV" is a compelling reason not to tip.

True enough, but tipping certainly...

Re: another tipping question (sorry)
Hah! Good point, Bluegrass. It's about 1 pot in 100 that doesn't see the flop!
And in response to the earlier point about a 10% tip, I thought that was only applicable to tournaments, and even...

Re: Mountaineer Trip Report- WV
I live in Columbus and would love to make the trip. I play very little live and always in Indiana. Anyone played Mountaineer and also played Argosy or Caesar's? Any comparison between the 1-2(3)...

Re: another tipping question (sorry)
Thanks. That adds a lot of perspective. Again, it was never my intention to slight anyone or act outside of what is considered the norm. I simply don't play enough live poker to know what is...

Bav-
You are correct. I am now uncomfortable with not tipping every hand, mostly because I did not realize that was the norm. I had always assumed that tips were reserved for larger pots, and that...

Re: another tipping question (sorry)

another tipping question (sorry)
I play very little live poker, but when I do it's 1-3 NL at the Argosy in Indiana. Based on what I've observed, it seems that it is customary to tip the dealer after every hand regardless of pot...

C-Bet, keep firing?
I've seen it countless times, and am interested in your take on how to play this:
I'm in late position with a couple of limpers in front, pick up AK and raise. Inevitably I get a caller or two. ...

Re: .5/1 NL UB, weird action
I've rarely (if ever) come across a passive player who check raises the turn with any kind of draw. Based on your read, that seems awfully bold on his part. He also sounds like the kind of player...

I hate my line here (particularly on the turn) and am looking for advice on every street.
300 NL, live. Hero is button and big stack at table. I've been playing a little LAGGY, and am looking to...

Re: gg Mansion Poker Dome
All this moral relativism is frustrating. Matt does not have the ability to "interpret the spirit" of the rule. The rule is black and white. Not only is the rule in writing for the players, it was...

Re: high stakes 2-5-07
Is it standard to call raises with A-X suited? I see so many people get into trouble with hands like A-5 c in a raised pot, yet I have yet to see any of these guys throw those hands away even after...

Re: How to Kill Nitty McNitterson
Being a weak tight nit, I can tell you that I am easily confused by people who raise frequently with position. Often times I will fold middle pairs out of position to continuation bets. I also know...

Re: Argosy .... Indiana
They just expanded their poker room, but the biggest NL game is still 2-5. They spread quite a few limit games ranging from 3-6 to 10-20. I went down New Year's Eve weekend, and the lines were...

General Small Stakes Question
I typically play micro no limit on-line ($25 and $50 tables). However, thanks to Congress, I'm starting to play more live low limit (3-6, 5-10). Any good posts here I can reference for getting...
