Re: Too fancy?
Sometimes when I am playing, I look at mine and my opponent's boards, think of how I would play certain hands that I don't have, and then make a play that is consistent with that type of holding...

Re: Split kings line
I think it's a must call on the river. You see so many absurd plays in low limit stud games that you can't really fold this. He could be value betting queens up or even just making a really dumb...

Too fancy?
Villain is unknown. Am I getting too fancy here?

Re: Questionable limp (Stud Hi)
I think 3rd is a fold given your kicker and the number of live overcards still left to act. I'm even tempted to fold 4th after calling on 3rd, which also argues for folding 3rd. 5th is a clear bet....

Re: River action?
I folded because I felt that passive players (which was my read based on the small amount of information I had) like this are almost never raising with worse hands.
I did watch this guy play some...

River action?
I've only been at the table for a few hands, but villain seems like a fish. Clear fold, right?
In case anyone is wondering, I just called on 3rd as a mix-up play. With an ace dead I'm usually...

Re: Call or 3-bet river?
I did indeed just call and villain flipped over aces up. I thought afterwards that if villain is always raising with aces up or better (he's probably only giving me credit for kings and tens here),...

Call or 3-bet river?
Villains are donks. As far as timing tells are concerned, Seat 3's raises were instantaneous.

Re: A hand.
I didn't think the call on 3rd was too terrible. No has a doorcard higher than a Q, my hand is completely live, and even though I could make queens up and still lose, the odds are attractive...

A hand.
Table is loose and terrible in general, but otherwise no specific reads. 4th was an attempt to thin the field and build the pot with my big two pair (mostly the latter given these boards). ...

Re: Is this a donk move?
I think this is the only way to play it. On 5th, if the bettor were to your immediate left, the correct play in a freezeout tournament is probably to raise and attempt to get all-in given your stack...

Re: Doomswitch? Part 4
Well, if he paired one of his cards then he could beat your board. He at least deserves some credit for trying.
It would certainly seem strange for him to be sitting in a game for an hour without...

Backgammon players in the D.C. metro area?

Re: \"changle\" boys on PS
Who are you talking about? I can't remember their screen names, but I remember a year or so ago seeing several players who were all from the same city and had similar playing styles.

Pretty sure this was a weak fold.
This hand is from a $10/$20 Stud game at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.
The table is playing very loose, particularly the seat to my immediate right who is the villain in this hand. He plays...

Betting unimproved pairs on the river.
This is a situation in which I used to routinely check the river, but I'm not convinced it's the best play anymore. Any thoughts?
This was my first hand and my opponent is completely unknown.

Re: 3/6- Made KK on 6th In a Tiny Pot
Villain limps with an A up on 3rd, catches one his best cards, and checks into a trashy board? Unless this guy is incredibly cautious and/or clueless, he is betting 4th whenever he has nothing,...

Re: did i play this ok?
I would just call the limp-reraise on 3rd. Your hand is partially dead, with a good chance that you are actually behind with little chance of improvement. I think the other streets are fine, except...
