Re: 10NL - 33 flops set, but tricky spot

[ QUOTE ]
As played, do you fold the river? If an Ace hadn't dropped I probably could have layed it down, but the likelihood that he just hit 2pr with A7s or something like that combined with my pot...

Re: 10NL - 33 flops set, but tricky spot

Hey Akak,

pf + flop are fine. On the turn the pot is $2.20 ($3.20 when we bet) and villain has $6.25 left. Either we expect villain to pay off with a wide enough range that we want to get him...

Re: 10NL - T3s in BB flops combo draw

[ QUOTE ]
This hand is a good example of what I refer to as, "The Big Blind Bleed." That is, you get a free look at the flop and score enough of a hand to keep going with, usually a draw with...

Re: 10NL - T3s in BB flops combo draw

[ QUOTE ]
I am truly a nit but I fold flop: 2nd pair, very bad kicker. For a non-nit, Turn is the time to muck it, as this hand is getting very expensive with a poor hand.

Re: 10NL - JJ on Button versus a pfr

[ QUOTE ]
I was just giving some thought on watching how opponents react to three-bets. So if this opponent folded to my push, would you make a note like:

Calls 3-bets with hands < TT.

Re: 10NL - JJ on Button versus a pfr

Surf,

So you call pf against an unknown? Then try to hit a set, and/or keep the pot small?

[/ QUOTE ]

While this particular opponent's pfr is super-high, how he reacts to a 3bet...

Re: 10NL - JJ on Button versus a pfr

Hey Akak,

Alot of players get this situation confused - the flop looks like a real tough spot, and they wonder what the best plan is.

Interestingly enough, the decision lies not on the flop,...

Re: Live 2/5 hand: J2o in the BB

1) this is fine. There are a good amount of players in this pot and it's unlikely he's potting it with 89 or somesuch. His range is mostly strong draws and Jx+, and as you intimated we will have no...

Re: Live 2/5 JJ hand

Hey SJ,

Preflop I would either raise a little smaller, or a little bigger. $45-50 gets us to a spot where we can comfortably get it in on "good" boards like this, $200ish in the pot and $475 left...

Re: JJ set, tricky board, multiway

if your opponents are aggressive the flop c/r is nice. It gives away the strength of your hand a bit, but these guys won't care.

Flop cr needs to be bigger tho, like 12-15. You have not been...

felix's analysis is pretty sound and would apply well in an online game, however live many players happily limp 88-type hands so i think bottom and mid sets are both a potential worry.

Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N

I could get on board with this fold if the turn lead was a legit size, at least 3/5ths pot. As played your hand looks like junk and the pfRRer could be minraising anything from JJ to AQ.

What did...
