Re: Folded AK to raise PF (Standard??)
Interesting thread. As an aside, I've played about 5K hands with this particular villain at NL25. He plays 19/6 over that sample is down a few buy-ins. Just goes to show you that 100 hands isn't...

Re: NL25 One pair hands and SPR theory questions
Typically you want to look for an SPR between 2 and 8 for TPTK or overpair-type hands. In PNL, the authors say that when you don't know your opponents, you might use a target SPR of 4 for TPTK hands...

steelerman,
congrats!
Ed Miller's shortstacking work is excellent at being a primer. It will put you in a good spot to beat weak competition, but it doesn't include the adjustments to...

Re: M2TR shortstacker illuminati thread
For a change-up and because I've been reading this thread I played the Ed Miller SS strategy with a few modifications today at NL25. I crushed it for like 12ptbb over a few thousand hands but I'll...

Re: M2TR shortstacker illuminati thread
So is it stupid to think that a strategy as simple as raising AK, AQ, KQ & JJ+ and pushing all flops would be at least breakeven?
Edit: I guess adding in some kind of blind stealing strategy would...

Re: \"opening up\" at uNL = drop in bb/100?
Phy,
15/9/3 should be able to wreck 25NL and 50NL for that matter. If you find specific situations when you're playing (i.e. open limp/folders in MP when you have the button and you can raise...

Re: 25NL: Yet another KK hand
Ugh. Flop raises at NL25 just always seem to mean business. I don't think you'd give up much at this level if you always folded 1 pair to flop aggression. BUT, when you have some kind of...

Re: 25NL KK against a paired board
I just think we value bet a donk like this until we get an indication we're behind. This donk is calling that flop bet with JT, QT, KT, etc., along with gutshot straights along with assorted pairs....

Interesting hand. Did you have any stats on villain? If a tight player calls you preflop and check raises you on that board it's a set 104% of the time.
Against a looser player or just a...
