Re: $11 NLTRN: Top pair gets all-in on the turn
I just don't see any reason to shove this. If villian was just reraising with air or light, he doesn't often lead a turn like this. If he was an over aggro lag monkey he raises you bigger and pots...

Re: Useful frameworks or things to factor
Where was it proven that HU players are unreadable? I missed that lesson. Every beginner forum is full of newbs that can't make reads. That doesn't mean it is difficult or impossible only that lots...

Re: Useful frameworks or things to factor
I've read your posts, Dave. I said 'sounds like' specifically not 'you are'. SAGE sucks, shove junk early in a match, 'Learn to play RANDOM'. WTF? They play ATC, call flop 60%, so you can't read them...

Re: Useful frameworks or things to factor
They are only calling with ATC in response to your current bet size. If it is truly ATC then just shove a strong hand... guess what. They will fold. So it isn't ATC. Same on the flop. Your Cbet just...

Re: Useful frameworks or things to factor
Poor players are anything but random. A wide range is something we exploit with position and on later streets. At low levels there are tons of holes that should be easy to spot and quantify. I don't...

Re: Weird line by villain (NLTRN)
Doesn't look that weird to me. He is just checking it down blocking to keep you from pounding the river. I'd bet it's a decent jack (JT, JQ) or king with kicker trouble, possibly a middle pp that...

Re: Database design question
You won't precompute most stats. But you'll want to store flags or counters related to the calculation intensive stats you will be accessing frequently. That way there is very little work to do...

Your connection to the site will show up all over their logs, even if the connection isn't explicitly disallowed. I don't know the rules, but expect there is more than just an http filter in place.

Re: HU Improvement
Seriously, with 2K HU matches under your belt you should know exactly what your opponents styles are. Some are very common, some are rare, but it doesn't take very long to dial in an opponent. There...

Re: Any major leaks how I played this??
I never see these 4 bet 5 bet things. But after he raises I am betting 1/2 or more of whatever he has left and calling a shove. I want the money in before something kills my action or he connects....

Re: NLTRN: AA on paired flop
I like to bet this flop hard, pot or even overbet it. The investment isn't much more than a cbet, it lets me do it when I am holding AJ, or the Q. If we get shoved we can dump one pair easily, he...

Re: Pooh-Bah post: Level 0 exploitation
Glad to see someone else was puzzled by these examples. The points made are reasonable, but I was left thinking wtf on most of the hands.
We call a large three bet with 97s. Villian doesn't bet...

Re: NLTRN: TT OOP, flop line?
I think Hokie is dead on with raising bigger. But villians range doesn't tighten that much (maybe a tiny bit). Assuming we have been reasonably tight oop. Our decision just becomes easier because we...

Re: NLTRN: TT OOP, flop line?
I think the push _almost_ any flop is key. Definately gets value against Ax, KJ, KQ, QJ, JT, 99- type hands on a normal board.
But what kind of range is necessary to make the shove on this board...

Re: NLTRN: TT OOP, flop line?
So hokie. If you pop this to 300 pf. Would you shove this? Flops don't get much worse for our hand. And if you are committed to shoving any way and can't get away... why not just stick it in?

Re: HUSNG: getting raised on the river
I read this as: Xs7s He cbet the flop. Took his free card and the flush came home. The raise is sized so you call and extracts good value from the trips.
A3 or K3o might also play this way, and...

Re: NLTRN: TT OOP, flop line?
Don't the Jack and Queen hit his limp/call range squarely in the face? I'd shove a LOT of flops after a solid raise oop, but this one sucks. I don't think you're folding a jack out and any queen...

Re: So what is a good record?
Just play some. There is no significant difference. You'll meet 1 in 20 above average players instead of 1 in 25. Set aside a chunk of dough and play some. The games aren't harder... but the swings...

I love to bet these, but usually as a semi-bluff. I am leading these often if oop because these boards get played badly and weak tight by many. I'll float a medium size donk bet as well against a...

The weakness you are exploiting here is his inability to use position and build pots. So if he's limping.. what is his raise calling range? You should know this for 2xbb 3xbb 4xbb etc. Is he a...
