Re: Borgata Winter Open
[ QUOTE ]
Satellite day has been very good cash game ground in the past (for me). Since I don't play mega-limits, the satellite players tend to be the ones I want to play against.
I remember...

Re: Borgata Winter Open
IMHO, the answer is "no": the 1/2 NL games will not be much different the week of the tournament. The players who pony up $10,000 to enter the main event don't usually sit down at a 1/2 NL game...

Re: 1/2 live hand - curious about a read/tell
In 1/2 NL, I think betting patterns are more reliable than physical tells. I play in this game at the Borgata a lot, and so here are some of my observations.
First, an open-raise to $15 from MP...

Re: AC Tournaments Current-end year
I don't think OP was asking about the typical daily tournaments held in AC, but was interested in any special events with modest buy-ins. As we know from past experience with events like the $200+...

Re: AC Tournaments Current-end year
I'm not aware of any in the buy-in range that you mentioned. The Borgata is starting a deep-stack tournament today, but I think that the buy-in is $5,000. In December, The Borgata is running a...

Re: Things that annoy you about live poker.
Three pet peeves:
1. When someone pushes all-in for like 6 stacks of red, and then the guy with $50 behind wanting to know, "how much is it?" before he can make a decision on whether to call.

I also don't like the donkey accusations and the free poker lessons at a table, but it's not because I find the persons who make them annoying.
First, I think that the accusations are inaccurate a...

Re: Would you let him off
I agree that you handled it well, and I wouldn't have let the guy off, either.
As I was reading what happened, I felt that what the player to your right did was even more inappropriate than what...

Re: $300 NL: Turn & River Play w/ 2d Nuts
Thanks for the comments. My straight was good. Opponent didn't show, but from discussion after the hand, my guess is that he had either AA or AK with the As.
I didn't bet on the end because I...

$300 NL: Turn & River Play w/ 2d Nuts
This hand comes from a live 1/2 NL game with $300 max buyin. It's late in the session, and I've come back from some early coolers (AA v. KK pockets, made straight v. rivered full house) to start the...

Prematurely tabling cards in MTT
In a tournament yesterday at the Borgata, Player A prematurely tabled his hand on the river before Player B had a chance to act. Before Player B could see what was tabled, the dealer covered Player...

Re: Playing Small Pocket Pairs: + or - EV?

I'm up quite a bit with everything except for 22 and 44 over the last 260k at (primarily) 100NL on stars. I think it's just a fluke that those are down.

Is playing small pocket pairs worthwhile? I don't have enough hands loaded into Pokertracker to evaluate this, and I was wondering whether anyone else does.
In my live play at B&M casinos, I have...

Playing Cards Face Up
Have you ever seen anyone play their cards face up? Last night at the Borgata, someone at my table did this in a 1/2 NL game, and it was bizarre to watch.
A guy in MP made it $15 to go and was...
