Re: Home Games around St. Paul, MN

Old? 31 is pretty young there, kid. I'm 26. I don't care what age people are as long as they are there for two things, one and the most important is to have fun, but the other goal is to still take...

Re: Home Games around St. Paul, MN

Even if I have to host or something, we should get a game going. Where are you located K8? Disclamer though, I really don't have a lot of space to host a game.

Re: Treasure Island, MN

Thanks for the advice. I think you are probably right, I still do need a lot of work, but sometimes the more competitive side of me wants to sit in the bigger games. Do you regularly play the 4/20?

I can top that Porkchop....

I went there on Saturday, as I work just outside of Hastings. Sat on a 2/4 table just to waste some time before I was to go out with my girlfriend, and we hit the bad...

Re: Treasure Island, MN

The wait time is not that bad, and the games are pretty Juicy if you get there around 2-3am. That is usually when I get down there.

Re: Canterbury: Cash games during FPC?

Contrary to popular opinion, the blue chip games have not been that bad. I have been off of work this last week and played on Monday through Wednesday, and the wait was only like 30min at most for...

Re: aggression..can it be learned?

I was thinking of aggression as related to poker and specifically hold'em the other day on my way to the local B&M to play cards.

There is a term in the sports world called "legal discomfort",...

Re: Flopped an OESFD (2/10 spread game) line check

I would have three bet the flop, knowing that 75% of the players at TI over play top pair and two pair on a board with three to a flush. I'm sure they would have called down the turn and river too.

[ Why should someone have a problem? You're not really playing for the blinds in NL anyway, so the extra SB free ride shouldn't be important.

Re: Blinds for a cash game.

[ QUOTE ]
Your math is no good. 80 $0.25 chips = $20. 40 ($10) would still be a lot. You could get away with 20 $0.25, 20 $1, and the rest $5, though 24-32 $0.25 chips may be better.

Re: Blinds for a cash game.

Cool.

On the buy in thing, I was referring more to the max buy in, as I assume most people would just buy in for around 20 to 30 bucks, but they could have the option of a bigger stack and more...

Very well written. I agree with you on almost every point. For me, buying in short stacked forces me to play a patient game, and that is an attitude/philosiphy that I tend to carry throughout the...

Re: Turning 20$ into something

It's tough, but it can be done. I turned $3 on FT (Played in a 100 dollar freeroll for SIX HOURS) into $30 by grinding it out on the NL10 tables. I would buy in for 2.50 and play until I at least...
