When to (semi)bluff at this pot (sirio is in it)?

Yet another from the Party Saturday 200k.

Level one, bb is 40. Cutoff opens to 100. I coldcall on the button w/ JT[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Raiser has 4k and I have 5600. Sirio calls in the SB and the BB calls also.

Flop is 754 two[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Checked to the pfr and he bets 175 into 400. I call as does Sirio.

Turn is an offsuit Ace. checks to me and i check it through.

River is an offsuit Queen. checked to me again and I bet 550 into 925.

what do you think? anyone bet the turn?

Bah, forget it. I thought BB tagged along after the flop as well.

I guess I like this fine. Neither player will believe that river helped you at all, and I have no idea what hand we're representing here, but I doubt either Villain is strong enough to call here. That being said, I see Sirio heroically calling with QXs.

I might be inclined to stick in a raise on the flop, but a call is fine. I don't know if they'll believe a turn bet. But you still might be able to take them off their hands. Sirio could easily have a 6 or a pair of 7s. If you make a sizeable bet, you might be able to take them off their hands. I don't like your river bet, which could really only represent Ax spades for you. I don't think you'd be betting many hands for value on that river that you wouldn't have bet on the turn or raised on the flop though. I'd prefer to make that 550 bet on the turn. If I check turn, I check river.

I like a turn bet a lot more than a river bet.

tyler,

why not raise the flop

id get it allin on this flop if they made me

plus take the free river card

just check through river, what are you reping?

Odds are too good to pass up, I think. Plus, often times villain will check it to us on the turn if he's just c-betting, so we get the chance to take it away *cough*.

I think maybe Tyler checked the turn because of the overcall on the flop. Is this right?

right well i cant imagine betting that turn it seems like suicide! to me.

im just saying that i think the flop bet lets us semibluff for cheap! which is v hot. we got lucky here with a free river card but it doesnt always work out so nice.

and i think the river bet is spewing for sure! we're getting called by so many hands.

I like a turn bet also. I would make a pot sized bet to shattered the odds to draw to a flush. At least, make it appear that way. I would be worried about an Ax suited though but the way it played out, I think if you rep the ace, you should be able to take it down.

With two spades out there and three people involved, I don't think Sirio or the OR is going to check the ace if it helps them. This is a perfect time to throw out a 3/4 or full pot bet, announcing that it helped you.

As for the river bet, I dunno. I suppose betting the queen is better than betting a deuce, but it's not as good as betting the ace. And if I were betting I think I'd want to hit it a little harder than 550, but what's a couple hundred chips among friends?
