People who post IM conversations as responses
 

I have recently noticed more and more people posting IM conversations that they have had with other board members as a response to a post. What is your opinion on this development?

Personally, I think it is lame, but I don't talk to anyone on 2p2 off the board, so perhaps I am biased.

Nah, it was sarcasm. But I was hoping to actually see some opinions of this annoying (IMO) new trend.

Hoya,

I'll take humor as an example, but this could be extended to any category of posts. Funny copied IM conversations are far superior to unfunny original OOT posts.

Usually it's annoying, but it gets certain things across better.

For example in this post by Yeti, in his fake NYC trip report, it gets the point across much better than just saying, "Bruiser thought I really did this." Plus there's no other way of getting that extra jab, which is the last line, in otherwise.

that was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny. it is amazing to me that bruiser (and others) could possibly believe that having read any of yeti's other posts, which i know bruiser has.
